I agree with you, but this particular aspect is essential IMHO : how could we approach the WWII if we can't bomber a specific industry ? Or occupy an ennemy region where some strategical industries were standing ? Not all these industries could move as long as the front line moves, and I don't know any industry that could be moved as fast as necessary to escape from a massive strategic bombardement.....

We approached it in three other HOI games without these capabilities. You think this is a very high priority. I think a real representation of rail lines (including the ability to bomb or cut them) is a very high priority. Somebody else thinks there need to be three times as many political parties (or maybe only twice as many). They can't do everything, and I'd rather they not try and fail. I'd like to see the base game looking very solid with all the features they've included well-integrated.

you can even see it in the video if you pause and examine

EDIT: that might be the laws for factories but i'll just check

EDIT EDIT: yeah you can spot the following factory laws, atleast thats the ones i could spot fairly quickly in the stream.

Undisturbed Isolation
CG factories: 40.0%
Civ Factory construction: +50.0%
MIL Factory construction: -50.0%

Isolation:
CG factories: 35.0%
Civ Factory construction: +30.0%
MIL Factory construction: -30.0%

Low Economic Mobilisation:
CG factories: 25.0%

War Economy:
CG factories: 15.0%
Civ Factory construction: -30.0%
MIL Factory construction: +20.0%
*different conditions to meet to be able to enable

Hmmm, so the gamey planning thing to do is to save up on political power and change economic laws after runs of factories.

Research companies will not be critical. They are a nice to have, but you don't even need them to do research.
So I fail to understand what makes you think that they are critical and it's so important to be able to deny a R&D team to a country or be able to capture it for yourself.

In fact, there is effectively a matter of understanding there :) I don't talk about R&D, but specialized production industries. Like, f.e., the ballbearings of Schweinfurt that the allies planned to bomber as soon as possible in order to put a big kick in most of the modern armement produced by the Germans (tanks, planes..).

Yes but why the hell do they stand square on that ? It's a very poor decision, and if it's quite moddable, they can do it easily for the release. Without talking about all the potential necessary mechanical accordances of the game on that particular point. Really something I don't understand.

Sorry to say but, poor decision !

I understand it.

Being able to "capture" certain companies for research purposes would be horribly unbalancing and assumes that the people working in that research company would have not fled or would be willing to work for you. If you just blindly let occupiers take research companies at face value, then you are creating a game where the brains behind this research sit and twiddle their thumbs, awaiting their captors with open arms. It would make occupations for more efficient than they were historically, and it would also make it too easy to capture the intellectual resources of an opponent.

Like Stalin isn't going to evacuate Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich (founders and head of Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Design Bureau, better known as MiG) along with their staff out of harms way as the Germans advance.

A few questions:
1) 1933 Start date? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to play as Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg!
2) Why is there no Manchukuo? The map shows Manchuria as just owned by Japan. Not totally accurate.
3) One of the things I hated about HOI3 was that the Allies would take territory in the war which made no sense. There should be dozens more wargoals. (Such as making Germany release nations they had previously conquered)
4) Why are there no events or even related cores for the Decolonization Movement? That should be implemented at end of war if Britain loses a certain amount of Manpower and USA is in Allies.
Edit: Can a developer confirm if any of these are going to implemented? If not, I think I'll pass on buying this game as I could really care less about tank designs or tech tree research.
Someone please respond!

Someone please respond!

1) It has been said in the video that it would force them to be a mix between Vicky 2 and HOI 4, which would dilute the base game too much. A 1933 start will not happen in the vanilla release.
2) It might be on the to-do list, or it might be a balance issue (Lord knows how hard it is to balance the Sino-Japanese war).
3) I think that might be an issue, but let's wait until there is a DD about wargoals, shall we?
4) Most people end the campaign after the war is over, so there is little sense in programming this stuff in right now. Maybe in a future DLC? I can only speak for myself, but I'd rather have a splendid war than a reasonable aftermath.

Well theres also a law between Isolation and Low economic mobilisation. One between Low Economic mobilisation and war economy and one after war economy. These might not be as clearcut as the ones we have been shown just yet.

Apparently Focke-Wulf and Heinkel disappeared in the middle of the night.

If you watched the steam you might have noticed that they scroll down so you can see most of the Stuff under the "Technology & Research" I'll just list what is shown company wise there.

Rheinmetall - Artillery
Mauser - Infantry Equipment
Focke Wulf - Medium Aircraft
Heinkel - Heavy Aircraft
Dornier - Naval Aircraft
Simens - Electronics
Opel - Motorized Equipment

If you notice theres not 2 options for any of these hence you are not forced to "choose" between 2-3 like the companies under the tabs higher up.

Beside these there is Scientists and Theorists for rocket, nuclear, military, air warfare shown.

There should be more multi-roling. Dornier made fighters and bombers, Focke-Wulf made light aircraft, Heinkel built Jet fighters and Mauser made cannons as well.

Your initial comment about poor decision was made after somebody mentioned that you can't capture companies. Companies do research, not production.

Factories are on the map and can be bombed and occupied. But production is not detailed to the point that you have to build all bolts and bearing before you build a tank or plane, you just build the end product directly.

My bad so, as I misunderstood there. But the point I wanted to show as unhopefully not modeled was about the (military) specialized factories localisation, as it's a strategy wargame and the strategists of this war were so interested in such a thing, to disorganize the ennemy military production, f.e., but not only.

There should be more multi-roling. Dornier made fighters and bombers, Focke-Wulf made light aircraft, Heinkel built Jet fighters and Mauser made cannons as well.

In my opinion it should be one company one tech area. It might be more historical to have companies work in numerous areas however for me it would also make the picture more muddy. You need imho to be able to discern Logo -> tech quickly so you dont have to read the text after a short while.

Like Stalin isn't going to evacuate Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich (founders and head of Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Design Bureau, better known as MiG) along with their staff out of harms way as the Germans advance.

i thaught about it like if you own the province you'll get the tech company...not if you occoupy it...i mean..they can run away...but if you own this city like you take it from the country or share the country with other nations like germany and the sowjet union (poland)
or france usa great britain poland and the sowjetunion (Germany) not one nation should get all the research companys

What you said is true but what about the race to German scientist by Allies and Soviets? The USA maybe wouldn't had landed first to the moon without Von Braun, wouldn't had superior jet aeroplanes without Germans and maybe they wouldn't had the A-bomb in 1945 without Fermi.
