We aren't discussing war crimes, POWs, or terror bombing of civilians. It's against the forum rules, but it's also been made abundantly clear that the game won't include mechanics for these things.
Looking at the picture in the DD, I think it's especially bold of Paradox to have the naval units use rayguns. That's some innovative sci-fi/alt-history stuff.

Hey its not sci-fi, US ships now have lasers: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2014/dec/10/us-navy-test-laser-weapon-persian-gulf
That's still a experimental thing - especially regarding air targets.Hey its not sci-fi, US ships now have lasers: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2014/dec/10/us-navy-test-laser-weapon-persian-gulf
It has nothing to do with how many people from Britain lived there. It has to do with how the people who live there see themselves...for most of the population the British Empire was just one in a long line of Empires that conquered the various 'Indian States' while the UK might not have full cores on India, neither would India at the point until they actually unified the people.ENG had and has no core in a country in which only about 100,000 British lived. If that was the case why all those rebellions and the Indian independence right after the war?

Ye gads, that will revolutionise naval and missile warfare, not to mention the economics of the whole thing. Sorry, completely off topic.
On topic, no chance of these weapons making HoI4's tech tree?. /not serious
.
The railguns look cooler though. http://www.forbes.com/sites/william...-s-navy-buys-81-million-lithium-iron-battery/
Ironically... this just makes submarines more valuable, the navy doesn't seem to realize that though. Laser's and railguns can't hit things they can't see.

Haha, they do look cool - railguns for attack and lasers for defence perhaps? You're not wrong about subs either, water would mess with both systems, to some degree.
But you could develop a weapon similar to RG to shoot anti sub mutation to the location of the sub.
I'm not sure of the physics here, projectiles slow down very quickly in water, hence the use of self-propelled weapons underwater if the combat is taking place beyond harpoon-gun ranges. A railgun could, of course, still shoot further than an old-fashioned explosion-based system, but the range reduction would be huge.
The thing could be self propelled then it reach water but using the advantage of RG to get very close to the sub location before it reach water making it much harder to avoid.
For close range however it would not be great.
I would think that it wouldn't be so hard for an onboard computer to tie the laser targeting system in to simple sonar or something. I have no idea how water would affect what is basically a strong, focused light beam, though.
I've played HoI2, HoI3, and I have to say that it seems HoI4 seems to be designed THE way I was hoping for. If it's released when it's really about ready, well, erh.. completely ready, it will be great !!
All for the realism !
And don't forget to not "script" the fall of France, which should never have had lose the war that way
And also, one thing I particularly care, please, stop this very annoying mechanic system which makes us able to build a vehicle or a plane in 1936 and to modernize it until it's top of the art in 1945. That's fool. When a stuff is obsolete, we should be able to sell it or to use it in our formation centers in order to improve our crews' skills. I have been forced to mod all HoI3 that way in order a game looks like something about realistic...
