Hearts of iron IV crash

I recently downloaded hearts of iron IV about 3 days ago and had no issues for a bit. however recently my game has been not been launching. the error will go, i click play on the steam and all seems well, the launch menu comes up, still no problems, then when i click play the window for the game turns completely white and wont respond. i have tried reinstalling both manually and through steam. i have zero mods and nothing i can see that could stop it from launching.

If you could please help with my issue i would be grateful. thanks!
