Yes. Everyone else except the 7 majors gets the Generic Tree.
Again I ask, where have they said that only the majors will get a unique focus tree?

Two extra research slots are not going to be nice to realism.

And you are told again:Again I ask, where have they said that only the majors will get a unique focus tree?
I accidentally counted the generic focustree as a major ;D there are 7 majors trees + generic
I'm not sure about whether or not all the above or only one needs to be unlocked (you may very well be correct in presuming so) but it has at least been stated that the second research slot has a requirement of a number of factories owned. The number mentioned (subject to change) is 50 factories which is probably unattainable to most minors without conquests. I believe we have very little to fear in terms of minors ending up with up-to-date homegrown air force, armoured forces and carriersThat second research slot looks like it now takes a lot of focuses to unlock ...

That second research slot looks like it now takes a lot of focuses to unlock (it used to just be straight down one tree and now looks like you need 2 Army, 3 Air, and 2 Naval focuses as well) and we can't even see what any of the prerequisites for any of the focuses are.
1. yes, as I recall you can make a faction one focus faster than down the collectivism branchInteresting focus tree. Should make minor powers a little more fun to play then they were in HOI III. Just a few questions though:
1. Will it be possible to create your own faction if you chose the "Liberty" branch over the "Collectivism" branch?
2. Will focus trees be moddable?
How it is possible for most minors to get 50 factories, if that number doesn't change, will be highly dependent on all those Industry focuses. I'd guess that seven of them could give free factories slots and free factories.
A question: Some national focuses reduce the ahead of penalty time by 100%, do that mean all ahead penalty is gone or it just subtract a 100% from it so 200% penalty becomes a 100% penalty?
Great! Now to the important announcement: Hearts of Iron will be delayed until Q1 next year. This is because after getting lots of valuable design input from DDRJake we have realized that Hearts of Iron IV as it is now is missing a crucial physical connection with its players, and it would be unfair of us to release it until this is done.
Worry not however, we have a great solution for this proposed by Jake himself - Dance Dance Revolution Mat integration! No longer are you simply a passive observer, you can instead march in real time (soundtrack will be replaced with 100% marching band music) with your soldiers towards Moscow! Not enough for you? We have also developed a revolutionary Bucket DLC System(tm) that lets you slosh through authentic pripyat swamp water*, mud and scorching hot sand (requires oven (not included)).

We believe this will revolutionize grand strategy gaming like nothing else and are super excited to take you with us on this journey!

See you next friday when we will cover exciting head to head multiplayer dance-offs used to decide conflicts in peace negotiations!

So what poor soul from PDS will go out to the marshes and bring back the mud?
Why wouldn't the AI take the option? If it's the best thing available to them, then it's going to do it.Agreed, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as the AI doesn't take them regularly. If it's a player choice thing, they can choose to play plausible or not, and it's all good, and I'd expect Greece suddenly fielding a domestically built up-to-date air force and armoured divisions built by the AI would show up in beta testing.
What is unclear is the meaning of the mix of solid and dotted lines descending below Fighter Focus/Bomber Focus and Flexible Navy/Large Navy, especially the junction below Flexible Navy which is solid while connected to a lateral dotted line linked to Large Navy and Cruiser Effort.
