Awesome, looks fantastic! Some questions. In the first screen shot it looks like the Japanese don't have a convoy route to Korea and was curious about that. Secondly do you have control over your supply routes or is it completely automated? Lastly I assume you still need oil to produce supply for motorized equipment or am I wrong about that.

Possible to get a specific on what:Required exactly means? I know supported means how many can stay there and incoming is how many you have entering the province, but what the required is what I am not sure about.

Are the supply docks (naval bases) limited in their possible size? If you wan't to pull of a large naval invasion like the D-day you may need very large docks to supply your armies.

Equipment are supplies now, no more generic supplies which are probably the best thing of this DD:)

yeah, which means that *how* to supply someone becomes more important. If you lose some resource you need (say chromium for advanced tanks) you might have to reoganize those divisions to be able to supply them.

Its a massive buff to the Japanese navy
yes this is a downside from a pure simulation perspective in that they can be more active. its also a buff to fun since you dont have to stick them in a port the whoel game. They still have the same issues as historical though: A desperate need for oil to replace lost ships and build a big enough navy to fight USA (USA can affort do lose ships, japan really can't since they take so long to build).

Wow, another fantastic DD with all the right solutions to complex problems.

One question:
The Allies have 20 divisions on some island. Local supply is enough for 5. I go all-out submarine on them and eliminate convoys entirely.
What happens? Will all 20 divs gradually be reduced to 25% strength?
Is it possible to build up local infrastructure to supply all 20 units despite being completely cut off from naval supplies? Sure it'd be costly and should take a long time, but possible?
I'm already contemplating a proper U-Boat campaign to starve the enemies' troops overseas.

I very much like the changes. I believe it will give more realism to the way things work.
I also understand the equipment part in supplying land and air units.
But wondering how this will effect naval units at sea.
So question " Well naval units have to return to port every so often to be refueled and rearmed?"
In other words in HOI3 naval units could be sent out on missions and basically forgotten until they made contact with an enemy force.

Required is what the units stationed there needs. Units need more when fighting for example. A supply need of "1" is an average triangular infantry division without a supply company for reference, so if you build hungrier divisions thats what you can compare on. The division designer will tell you what the requirements will be when you adjust templates.

what if army does not need (or the need is negligible) equipment but only needs oil?
Oil is built into the original equipment build for the equipment that needs it (tanks, trucks, planes, ships). Its not tracked separately or needed beyond building the equipment. I've been rationalizing it in that you are buying an average vehicles lifetime use of oil per vehicle.

True, but it was very opaque. Impossible to know whats going on. And a bit gamey if you just spammed IC :D

The most gamey thing in both installments was to encircle the capital and wait until the enemy troops starved to death. Luckily, with this new system the human player is prevented from doing that and THAT is a good thing. It will be pretty difficult now to exploit this system; actually near to impossible.

How good of an idea will it be to disband your army to save equipment like I have seen player do in HOI3? You can rather quickly retrain your army later, espacially if you start with low experienced divisions you don't have to much to lose. This however depends on how friendly your neighbours are.

I am not sure I can get my head around building a tank in 1940 and it is fueled until 1948 while constantly driving non-stop.....and you know some of us will do just this.... simply because we can and it gives something to moan about.
Nothing like that at all. Once your 1940 tank runs out of gas, they ship a replacement tank that's fully fueled and armed, and ready to go for the next 1000km or 100 rounds of main gun fire, whichever comes first.

When getting supplied by an ally, would you be able to view their logistical flow? How would you be able to assist? Let's use German Afrika Corps as example: would I be able to see the capabilities of the Italian supply system? Can my Luftwaffe be stationed in Sicily to assist in protection of Italian convoys? Can I request Italy to up or increase supply flow by requesting more convoy ships or building bigger ports?

So if the division is fighting that number will rise and the less divisions can stay there and be in complete supply? Basically no more SU having 30 divisions in a province with level 3 infrastructure?
