The good thing is well find out what they are in a week.

It's also pretty exciting that there's still things that haven't even been hinted at. I totally wasn't expecting there to be more than what we already knew about which was Recon,ENG,AA,ART,AT.

Looks great. My only concern is that in the example given, Rundstedt's skill and traits would determine the tactics for every battle across the entire front. I'd like to see a little more variation than that. Do we know yet how many generals we can assign across the front? Also, do we know how many will be available to choose from? Thanks.

Art companies are also allowed within the support brigade. These represent heavier artillery.
I think that support Art brigade are more lighter artillery than heavier one. Light specialized artillery for paradroper marine mountain or fast movable one. Or do you think that are small quantity of corps or army artillery?

This is what I'm thinking as well, because support brigades can be put in any division without altering those divisions movement abilities, so paratroopers can still do paradrops, marines can still do amphib invasions, etc etc, no matter if they have support artillery in their division or not.

Or am I in the wrong here?

US subs actually had ice cream machines, precisely to boost morale ;) . Also showers, and the subs as a whole were more "roomy" and comfy on the inside than the German ones.

You might be right. I read this the other way round, with Corps type artillery companies in the Support Brigade column:
standard support artillery uses 8 artillery pieces. Support artillery is different from regular artillery, which is a bit bigger, and is towed by the rest of the combat battalions and will thus match their speed. To focus on support vs regular artillery is a choice up to the player with support more suited to smaller divisions and certain doctrines.
Re-reading I think it's the field/medium artillery in the Support Brigade, heavier artillery in the Combat Brigades.

It doesn't mention specialist Divs, and I doubt that Para Divs can be dropped with Art of either type in 1936. Perhaps possible with better glider techs.

Even italian paradroper had droppable artillery whitout glider. Glider just do thing better end can drop small tanks too. I think combat brigade is a mix of medium/heavy field gun (or many lighter one like the 25 pounder), support artillery are the light version of the gun (like the 105mm M3, german infantry gun, various 75mm/76mm artillery ecc ecc).

Some things are still the same as in the previous iterations of the series. We still have movement is attack, we still have combat width, and we still have divisons with modifiers firing at each other.

also yes piercing/armor is still a division thing.

  1. In a battle with multiple divisions : Is it always one division firing at one enemy division? (Or do attacks get spread between enemy divisions)
  2. (Assuming yes to #1) In a battle with multiple divisions : Do the divisions get to "choose" who they fight. E.g. will my AT-heavy division try to fire at enemy divisions with tanks?
  3. Within a division : Is damage distributed evenly among battalions?
  4. How are casulaties taken between manpower and equipment? Is it MP damage and then equipment without manpower is lost? (I tried asking this last time you said wait for combat DD :) )
  5. If piercing/armor is still a max-battalion-score for the entire division. Then how will you make "exploit" divisions with a single high Armour / Piercing battalion less attractive to the min/maxers?

also yes piercing/armor is still a division thing.
How does piercing/armor work with regards to equipment quantity?

1. What the relation of tank quantity on the bonus? I assume a division with 1 remaining tank will not be getting much of a bonus.
2. Is there a cutoff, where having more vehicles actually reduces the bonus?

I've just been watching Doctor Who, and for a moment, I thought you said "more roomy on the inside than the outside". :D

I'd say that's the general case for submarines, when using the specific phrasing 'roomy'. Roominess is, as I understand it anyway, mostly a property of the amount of designed, human-habitable/accessible space on offer. We say an apartment is roomy but usually not a mountain. Looking then at a submarine - the inside of the thing is pretty cramped, but able to fit a large amount of people without them often having to crawl over each other dwarf fortress style. The outside, though? Depending on your era, you may or may not have a slim and sparse deck to walk, and there's probably a small tower with walk-space for watch-standers in the era when submarines spent significant amounts of time surfaced, but not much else. If you try to put more than a mere handful of people up there, they're going to be crammed together, at risk of falling into the surf, or both. Compared to that, the interior, while still not great, actually starts to look pretty good.

This non-sequitur brought to you by the national department for taking things overly literally.
