No, the way they are visualized is that more and more small factories start appearing spread over the state the higher your level is on the state.

I'll be playing during vacation so there is a little chance for some bonus AAR perhaps :)

#1 wait for combat diary
#2 its linear, and on division levl its as you say. no tanks, no benefit
#3 not right now, but may happen in the future at some point

1. That would be awesome. Even better would be, if you record that gameplay and post it whole with your commentary.

2. I would also love to see that feature.

Please please! As long as it doesn't slow you down in any way! :D

Not realistic at all that Britain turns Fascist, I hope we will be able to turn such stupid things off? The game looks promising, a lot of cool features, but then, stupid things like this kind of ruins the excitement.

I doubt it will be a concern for the AI to go fascist. Most of the time when things are thrown in like that its for the player to choose if he wants to take his country a different way and highly optional.

1st of January, 1936. Clearly all normal games that do not use console commands or cheats will look like this.

Clearly.

Also. Why is this flag ok, but not the swastika of the germans?

Because reasons - the British flag is a fictional one from Victoria 2 and the flag of the Third Reich is a real Nazi flag with associated horrors and this could lead to legal complications in the game, not the least of which is the game being banned in many countries.

Also, discussion of Swastikas is not allowed on the forum so please refrain from that.

I didn't intent to start a discussion about swasticas though, but this is not entirely fictional, the symbol in the middle was used. But the fascists of Britain (although they would never in a million years gained power in britain in my opinion, their support was never "big" enough and would never have gotten big enough) also used the normal Union Jack - why not just use that? Why the need to create a fictional flag?

It would be actually quite nice if you see civil wars in other countries then Spain sometimes (and sometimes not the Spanish civil war), it would add some dynamic in the otherwise rigid HOI-world politics and would help combat determinism and hindsight.

It would be interesting if you, as Axis/Comintern/Allies, could use espionage to infiltrate enemy political system, promote your own ideology, fund underground supporters and secret cells and eventually cause a civil war/coup in the target country. And then support the civil war on behalf of the side that you had covertly promoted.

For example, German spies infiltrating Mexico and creating fascist rebellion there, and then supporting the coup and helping the fascists win the civil war, also gaining a new member for their faction. Or for example Soviet spies backing a communist revolution in Brazil.

You probably can do that however little information is known because the espionage system was not finished for the multiplayer event.

Given how it worked so well in HoI3, I think they probably will allow all those things in HoI4 as well. It was possible to create planned coups in countries, but not full civil wars. So that would be a new feature.

I guess we'll have to wait for the espionage dev diary.

But isnt this game supposed to be about WW2 and the period from 36-45? Not a what-if world that never would have happened? Do people really want a fantasy fiction game or a history game. Britain would never have had a civil war, that is just plain stupid and they never would have turned fascist either. Neither would the USA for instance. It stops beeing alternate history when things would never had happened, at least within the timeframe of the game, it becomes silly fantasy, could just as well throw in a few trolls, orcs and elves or even UFOs and alien invaders. And the game would be ruined in my opinion. At least make such silly changes optional.

ThePinkPanzer: yeah, I noticed I got a few dislikes on my post. So there is clearly a group of people that prefer the fantasy genre, but not all. I would like this fictional fasticst/communist stuff to be optional at game start. Those who want to play with a fascist UK can do that, but I certainly wont. If I wanted a fantasy game, I'd rather buy that.

In a game that spans over a lot more years than HOI4, it would be plausible with all sort of strange stuff, but not within the timeframe of the game.

but what are the chances of it becoming fascist without a German invasion? Different flags for change in government is a good move. After all , in previous HOI you can coup others nations

This game is supposed to be a game, not a history book.

If they force me to play in certain way, I might as well go and buy a book on WW2 with pictures. The history is thrown right away once you start the game, and only certain historical things will happen. Do you think AI will always form the same armies and same divisions and use the same strategies as it did historically, with same battles happening?

Sorry mate but not gonna happen. A game should have 'what-if' possibilities to be enjoyable. And there is only so many times you can play the same thing out before getting bored.

And if you are bringing UFOs and orcs into this...well you failed to understand the points of those posts entirely. Historical plausibility doesn't mean fantasy.
