I know except for the minor nations

No even minor nations have the same tech tree. A 1942 Light Tank will be the same spot on the tech tree regardless of the nation. You're thinking about the national focus tree, which is a completely different thing.

Nevermind Canada should be a major country. Because Canada had the fourth largest airforce and the third largest navy in the world at the end of the war. Thecnically they should have their own tech tree and their own national focus.

I think you mean the 4th largest allied air force and 5th largest navy at the end of the war. With less than 400 ships, it had fewer ships than the Russians and Japanese and wasn't that far ahead of the Australian navy with 337. Most of its ships were escorts and of very limited value in the face of an enemy surface threat - the Canadians only had 2 cruisers while Australia had 4. The Canadian air force peaked at about 215,000 men, while the Luftwaffe had something like 2m at its peak and the Japanese certainly operated many more aircraft, although many had been destroyed by Aug 1945. On the ground, it only maintained 5 divisions in action. In comparison Australia also maintained 5 divisions despite only have 2/3 the population. Canada had 1.1m serve in its armed forces in total, of 11m, while Australia had almost 1m serve out of 7m. Australia's armed forces declined to 600K by the end of the war as we'd mobilised lots of people in the face of possible invasion and later returned manpower to farms and industry. To take a look outside the Commonwealth, Romania put more men into uniform to fight Russia than Canada mobilised the entire war, and it carried a larger burden of the ground war against Germany than Canada did, but I don't think anyone's calling for it to be classed as a major power.

In WW2 Canada was a highly industrialised middle power that made a significant contribution to the total war effort. It should have its own specific tech tree, as should Australia, Romania and other countries, but it may well be something that will come after release.

It's not just the numbers, it's also how interesting it is to play (and I think Canada can be an extremely interesting country to play).
In any case, I suppose there will be a Commonwealth DLC at some point.

I thought most of their navy ships and airplanes were not domestically developed or produced but stuff that Canada either got from USA, or used USA designs for to build in their own industry? That doesn't really sound like a motivation for Major status or having own tech trees to me.

Canada actually produced a lot of ships - mostly smaller vessels, the vast majority of which aren't covered by HoI4, but in total tonnage of 'fighting ships' (mainly escorts, destroyers and landing ships/craft) it built around 393,000 tons during the war, more than Italy (287,431 tons) and far more than Australia (69,500 tons). While their own tanks (of which they produced thousands) relied on foreign designs, the Ram's turret was a Canadian design (mounted on a Sherman chassis). I'm not as up on their aircraft, but they made a huge contribution through the empire air training scheme, and built quite a few aircraft as well. I don't think they deserve as much love as a major, by any stretch, but they do get a bit nerfed in HoI relative to their actual contribution during the period.

I been looking through the lists of Canadian WW2 land equipment and there are only a few this that are Canadian designed, and most of those are variants on an UK/US design.
So far I've found the Otter Light Reconnaissance Car, Canadian Military Pattern truck (designed to British Army specifications) and a few bi planes.

Canada should have the UK tech tree, with a maybe a few US models.

What about their national focuses? They could have something more axed on industries. Because in Hoi 3 they werent shown as what they were. They were more compared to a minor nation with cheap industries with almost no resources.
