Come on, everyone who knows anything knows all the troops the UK had were shipped to the UK, then shipped back out to india. What you're asking is ahistorical.

and no, I'm not being serious obviously. :)

India trained a large amount of troops and produced plenty of weaponry during this period on it's territory. It's strange to consider that all UK military would end up from london. Though on the other hand, being allowed to deploy wherever (on cores) is a bit exploitable too, UK building it's entire military in singapore or hongkong might be a bit weird

True, but then make some events (against payment of equipment etc etc) that make all uk,Indian,Singapore armies possible to arrise at there orriginal location. Btw: thats also a solotion for the Ai to get troops where they should be.... Or am I thinking to much in hoi3 Logic now ;-)

You could have all the colonies act as puppets getting Lend/Lease support to raise troops locally if their local production is insufficient, or otherwise give Lend/Lease support to the nation they are colonies of. Troops so raised could then be turned into expeditionary forces seconded to the puppetting country.

Of course, for this to work you kinda have to be able to tell puppets what forces you want them to train...

1) The Defense of Burma in 1942 was a showcase of how bad Allied coordinated command was at first. The British deployed too far forward, Stilwell massively underestimated the Japanese numbers and abilities, the Chinese were the only ones with experience fighting Japan but they weren't listened to...

/

And the British retreated to save their own butt without bother telling the Chinese (or intentionally so)...

Oh, and yes, there will be NATO symbols there for those that prefer those. And probably an option to use NATO symbols instead of great-looking-informative-paradox-style ones.

Thank you! A million times thank you!

I would like to know if mass production gives bonuses for research like it was in hoi3? For example if I'm building lots of planes it should give me some bonuses like it was in hoi3.

From what we've heard, you still get a bonus from producing stuff, but it's more based on fine-tuning production lines over time - so the more aircraft of model A that you build, the better the factories assigned to it get at building it - but if you switch models, you lose some of that efficiency bonus (and presumably if you switch from planes to tanks you lose the lot). The new system looks like it's a pretty elegant and realistic one, one of the best new features they're putting in imo.

Ehh?

Why should UK be able to build in India, but not in Canada? The British Raj is an UK puppet, that you can send materiels to, but they have to train their own troops.

OH THANK GOD! I always hated playing as the UK for one reason: India. Its a nice territory in terms of resources, but I'm more of a 1 front kind of guy.

Yes you do but on a lokal level only. If the factories are left to produce the same thing over and over again they will get more efficient at it but other factories will have to start from zero if they are assigned to produce the same thing as the factories that have produced alot of the same thing.

DD's appear silent on this point so far.

Mate, you misunderstood him. He's talking about tech bonuses, not production bonuses. In HOI3 you got a boost to your research rates for builds.

Hopefully we'll get a tech DD soon... perhaps even before their damn northern Summer break [Hint, hint Johan!!!]

Actually the question was about research bonus, not productivity bonus. So no there's no research bonus.

However from another thread:

We just unlock the 1 model via the tech and you'll be able to upgrade the gun/engine etc via practical experience.

Upgrades of the gun/engine apparently can be done via practical experience.

Right you are, sorry about that and thanks for pointing it out :). As you say, we haven't heard on this one way or another yet. Will be interesting to see whether producing a lot of a certain type will give us HoI3-style practicals or a bonus to the appropriate XP (land/air/sea) for variants and the like.

You don't land experience from producing tanks and such, they need to be used for training and combat to give you experience, you can even land lease your equipment and get experience then your ally use your equipment.

e.g.
4. Intantrie-Division to 4. Infantrie-Division (mot) to 4. Panzer-Grenadier-Division

Was there any information on how units are numbered? Historic or sequential? I suspect the changing the template or changing the template that the unit uses would change the name and number.

e.g. 10 Infantrie-Division to 1. Infantrie-Division (mot)

1) The Defense of Burma in 1942 was a showcase of how bad Allied coordinated command was at first. The British deployed too far forward, Stilwell massively underestimated the Japanese numbers and abilities, the Chinese were the only ones with experience fighting Japan but they weren't listened to...

2) Also, as for the colonies, I made this proposal a year ago... https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...g-fixing-india-china-and-the-colonies.794223/

The colonies idea is fantastic. I had personally been wondering about it in HoI3 as most books I've read refer to each colony by name; Singapore, Hong Kong, the various African states, yet in HoI3 it was never really modelled very well. The UK seemed very 'bleh' to manage, France too I suppose.

Hopefully HoI4 will take some of your ideas and run with it. It would also allow the player a lot of flexibility.

It would be nice to have Great Britain be able to use New Zealand, Canadian, South African and Australian forces. It would also be nice for German to use Hungarian and Romanian forces. using the tag "cheat" to get the game to do this was always a niggle. Maybe this is a similar issue to colonies.
