I think that modelling the undeclared war is a great idea, that was always something which I never expected Paradox to include.

I think the key with partisans is to make it so partisan-units don't actually capture provinces, merely affect things like the province's supply throughput, resource output and manpower. That would be much more realistic.

I think the key with partisans is to make it so partisan-units don't actually capture provinces, merely affect things like the province's supply throughput, resource output and manpower. That would be much more realistic.

I'm having wet thoughts about "ghost units", units that can sabotage IC and stuff(affect negative with their presence, or actual sabotage through bombing) in provinces, but not be physically detected until an enemy division get close. Impossible to implement, but oh so awesome.

If you are going to add a new feature, make the new feature correctly and accurately. Undeclared War should be something that any on-the-hinge country should be capable of doing. There are many instances in the game era: Major powers involved in the Spanish Civil War, 2nd Sino-Japanese war, Soviet-Japanese border wars, Flying Tigers, Soviet invasion of Poland, Bulgarian/Soviet naval clashes, Every Japanese attack, Every German attack, etc.

There are varying levels of undeclared war, from full to sporadic.

I'm interested to see exactly how the changes to partisans are implemented. I had always felt a visible unit that conquers territory wasn't a correct representation of this but seemed a reasonable placeholder.

The idea I favored was that partisan units would create a malus in every territory they had risen in and spread to but would not directly conquer territory unless they had taken enough territory to liberate a country.

What this would then mean is that they would in a sense not be immediately be visible in much the same way as naval units. However a new statistic (or it could possibly be worked in with suppression) would be used to detect these partisan units. This

would then allow several different types of partisans to exist as well with different combat and other statistics. Some being local community efforts, better at just hampering supplies while others would actually be reasonably state sponsored and more

combat oriented. All still requiring units with different levels of suppression (or another stat) to find and weaken them. If after having been weakened enough they can be eliminated, but I don't care for the current model in which they are

eliminated so simply regardless of the circumstances when in many cases partisan efforts were just not that easily dealt with.

Anyways that's just my two cents on it and I look forward to more information on this xpac.

Pardon my ignorance, but what IS "multicore support"?

Using more then just 1 processing unit in your PC. Should make the game runs muth faster then.
Most PC´s today have Double (2) Cores, or even better Quad (4) Cores. The Game could run then theoretically 2 or 4times as fast. Well in theory. ;)

New partisan (irregulars) control and war goals would line up nicely too- interesting speculation

I am not sure I really buy the "undeclared war" concept. May make it gamey and hard to balance. But can appreciate the idea - although there are so many other ideas which would be easier to implement and would probably improve the game better...

The other concepts sound great!

Lots of whining about the supply system here. Sure there are problems like... japan :( and the AI use.. But otherwise, supply is working great.
