- Btw: How about adding any-alliance-joining-immunity to the war goals feature. War goals can definitely improve cases like Finland, but how about Sweden or Switzerland then?

My guess is either they will have no war goals, or they will have war goals to stay neutral.

tO clarify the partisan bit. You build a unit and get deployed behind enemy lines. The deployement bit covers the whole work of getting guns and men to the unit.

Which is 5 months from now. Considering the fact that they haven't been able to release an official bugfix to the last official bugfix in well over 5 months since its inception, this sounds dreadfully fast - I too hope they aren't rushing things too fast.

What? there have been plenty of Patches recently. If you had the game registered you could see them on the tech support forum.

how about releasing a patch at some point before "Q2 2011" for the eternally bugged DW rather than release an expansion for a game nobody plays?

Plenty of people play HoI3, but if you read the EU3 forum you'd know there should be a patch sometime this month.

I mean would there be, for example, Ukrainian nationalist factions who would fight both the Red Army and the Germans, but also Soviet Partizans who would only fight for the USSR?

Eh no that will not be on the cards. We have standard rebels who are hostile to everyone.

Please don't put to much effort into the "undeclared war" to let US warships take part a few months early.

If you want to build something on the Arctic convoys King a good start would perhaps be making sure they are there at all to start with! Because currently, well they ain't....

When I fire up the Pearl Harbour Scenario as Soviet there are zero trades with USA running, the AI will not start up any if I run for 1 month and the US AI refuses to allow me dept or any trades.
As a matter of fact there arn't even any interesting trades since Soviet is running surplus on all basic resources and don't have enough money to buy any larger amounts off supplies. The only trade USA will even consider is buying my Soviet supplies, right about the opposite of what historically happened! Can you imagine Soviet tanks & ammo being exported to USA during the height of the battle of Moscow?!

(yes I know supplies is not equal to tanks but its probably the closest we will get in HoI3 since supplies = IC = Tanks).

But to put it bluntly the feature of the undeclared war wouldn't matter at all because there are no Arctic convoys running...

Artic convoys, while it would be nice to have them, really aren't that much to do with the Undeclared war. It's more about the USA helping out Brittish convoys in the Atlantic before they were DoWed by Germany. For the most part the Artic convoys were shipped via the UK with Royal navy escorts, which were of course already in a declared war.

Doesn't the nation receiving a traded good have to transport it using the current supply system? If so will this be changed somehow so the USA transports are shipping them thus giving them the losses from any roaming wolfpacks? I look forward to seeing how all these additions will play out, there are some good ones planned.

We can all sorts of things to make sure this works. One option is a decision/triggered modifier etc. for the USA 'The Neutrality Act' which allows the USA to accept trades with countries who are in factions, but offer them.

Why nobody is talking or seems to like the new Battle scenarios or mini-campaigns feature?

For me it's me most important and much anticipated thing to come,
HOI3 it's a detailed and awesome game, but currently I do not have the time to spent more than one hundred hours to play a full game.

Thanks Paradox for including it .

Its one of my favorite things, and I expect it to be much better than it was in hoi2. So far there are about 2 finished, and i think we aim to ship with 5 of those.

Could you give us some more little details about the new "wargoals system". Will it help that south american Nations dont join the Axis?

And the most interesting question would be: Will the AI focuse on those wargoals? Lets say, AI Japan has the wargoal to get more Oil for their war machine. Will they then attack the dutch east indies to get those ressources, even when they still fight a hard war in China? Or will they first try to achieve one goal after the other, like first conquer China, then get for oil in the Pacific?

Another question would be: Could a Modder create new wargoals? So, would this feature help to tell the AI what to do?


At last, what happens, when a war goal is reached? Lets say, Finland reconquers all land it lost before. Will it stop then to fight in Russia, and bring all forces back home?

There will be a dev diary about this, once the system is more complete so I can tell you all about it. However, as a teaser to best of my knowledge the wargoals are in plain text files so you can Mod them to your hearts content.

This is an old vid, not sure why the thread was bumped now.

Anyway, def/toughness is being redone for FTM or you can use the fixed values in the bug forum that Slan and others have posted. The funny thing is, apparently these have never worked and no one noticed until recently, so the whole game was balanced around the non-working values, which means fixing it requires a lot of rebalancing.
