Well, I've submitted. I am not near so vain as to believe I have a chance of winning, nor do I take great pride in my story, but it was a good idea and I chose to run with it.

Nice story Beamed, got to say I liked that a lot! A good personal touch in it, one can understand the character and feel it all shatter as the reality of the news hits him. Good one.

And hey, Monnikje, you actually made a quite nice title for my little entry, certainly better than anything I ever thought up for it.

Isn't it top three?

@When is the deadline?

Top 5 will win . Your top three are the ones you vote for . The top 5 that get the most votes will win and then there will be a runoff.

Midnight on the NIGHT OF the 5th will be the deadline (notice how it says 24:00 and not 00:00) meaning AS SOON as it turns the 6th it'll be too late to submit . Good luck all :D

IN other words , at the moment of this post you have 14 hours 40 minutes

 i was going to propose to change the title to Watch out for vegetables... but In the Fuhrer's bedroom sounds more interesting :p

Wow, it seems that getting the first sentence from the entry works pretty well for a title!

On another note, I won't be able to update the index much today, since I'll be having a party today (no, not because today is the last day to enter the contest...). I'll do that tomorrow, so if you change your title, or completely change the story, or enter the contest this afternoon, don't worry about not finding it in the index yet. It will be there soon :).

Let me also bring my entry to your attention that my entry, My little Maksymilian, now has some photo's to accompany the story.

Can someone explain how the voting will be done.
Will it be a poll?
Can anyone vote or only participants?

I assume that it will be this way:

1. At Midnight tonight the voting starts.
2. Anyone (including writers and readers) vote for their top three entries by posting into a thread. You have 20 days to do this.
3. Once the twenties days are up the voting is done and the votes are tallied up.
4. The top five vote-getters are then placed into a run-off (I do believe it will be a forum poll) and whoever gets the top spot is rewarded with a hard copy of HOI3.

At first I thought it would happen through the use of a multi-optional poll (3 options max), but now I think of it I'm not so sure polls with almost 60 options can even be made over here :p

So yeah, posting in a thread sounds more realistic. Plus, one could change his mind by simply editing his post (and irritating the hell out of whoever is charged with the most-holy-duty of counting :D).

Ok, an additional rule. You are not allowed to change your vote in the last 48 hours. (that way you won't irritate the hell out of me (and the other counter))

Hah, CaptRobau, you were in good time. I think I just managed to sneak in What I Did On My Holidays after your entry to grant the thread a proper silly end, but let's see what happens - how many more will manage to post before the thread is declared closed? How will the organisers deal with the summer time issue? All will, no doubt, be revealed in time.

Apparently I've snuck in under the deadline with a shade under 2 hours to spare (phew!). I present to you my HOI 3 AAR Contest entry:

OUR LADY OF SORROWS - The Seven Tragedies of Poland.

Best of luck to everyone who submitted. I'm really looking forward to reading all the entries!

I've resigned myself under some pressure to make a last-minute entry.

yes i already have my eyes on 1 serious one and 2 comedies to vote for but good luck to everyone and may the force be with us all (especially mine as anakin brought the force to this forum! lol)

and chapter 3 the third and last chapter for my story has been completed and posted. hope everyone can find time to check it out. interesting read.
