We've added a new rule to the contest due to recent events you can find it on the main thread once Mosby puts it up but it will be good if I reiterate it here.
Basically , if you would like to let us know that you've submitted something or that you've made an update to your entry do it IN THIS THREAD ONLY (do NOT make any new threads or post in other threads about your entry) and please follow the forum rules regarding your signatures ! You can find those rules as simply as looking at the AARland fora for the rules threads stickied at the top .
When telling us about your AAR in this thread DO NOT SPAM . Use common sense and NO BIG FONTS .
You are FREE to use IMAGES as ways of telling us that your AAR entry is there but use common sense in those images and DO NOT spam us with images . Use ONE image as a main title image if you want to tell us about your AAR in here and try to limit the number of SMALLER images in this thread .
Also , Bassman112's entry is disqualified as per Johan's judgment due to Bassman spamming several different threads advertising his entry . Mosby will be sending a PM to the mods to delete his entry from the list .

I have two questions about the advertisement-rule.
- Are you allowed to mention your entry in your Inkwell advertising space?
- Are you allowed to mention your entry in your signature?
When I read the rules carefully, I think the answer should strictly speaking be 'no' to both questions. But I want to be sure of it. I have done it both before the rule was set in effect, and will remove them if necessary.

I see no reason why not, as I read the rules. We don't want excessive threads about the same subject or spamming the various different forum threads with the same point. Inkwell and signature are fine as long as they follow forum rules (make sure you have read forum rules on signatures.) However, let's not get into a situation where one is trying to campaign for votes.

Again I will reiterate - let us not get into a situation where people are actively campaigning.

All right, here goes nothing. Yours truly's entry for the writing contest (great idea BTW) can be found you-know-where. I hope everything's legit with the entry or this announcement, please let me know if there's a problem so I can correct it ASAP.

Almost feel like Bassman should ask to get his name changed to Protesilaus, the poor sod.I can't wait to see who'll be the first to write a "First across the border!!! POW! ARrrrghghgh" AAR or a variation thereof.
Someone was always going to start trying to get some support together. Funny it would be quite that over the top, though, to the point it draws lightning bolts.
Tell Proty what, though - I missed the original post, but if he posts up an aar using it once the game's out, I'll follow it.

Honestly - it's good to get positive feedback, but even if I could vote for my aar, what I'd vote for first would be a tersely worded, intelligent gameplay AAR from one of you HoI2 panzergruppiefurriers give clear, insightful, step-by-step plans on how you would survive this scenario (!= 40,000 words on cabinet shuffling.)
I have absolutely no idea, but I still haven't seen one. I'm thinking maybe the HOI2 aar threads have so overdone the gameplay style, maybe hardcore readaars are burnt out on it and think it wouldn't get many votes. But I think people forget how informative it can be, particularly with a new game.
Is there just no way? Is there some AI weakness to use, apart from game exploits that will hopefully be removed in the new game? Do the new controls for the new game give Poland any options? Would it have to be MP for you to have a chance? How would you set up the coalition so that Poland survives instead of a situation like WWII where the England and France players just let Germany have that month or two while they get their ducks in a row?

Your dream AAR might be a little difficult to pull off, seeing as how the game hasn't been released yet.
We'll see history AARs, narrative AARs, comedy AARs, but the one thing that I guarantee won't be submitted (somebody's going to prove me wrong because I said that, I just know it) will be a gameplay AAR. A good gameplay AAR requires pics, lots of 'em, and very detailed to boot, not to mention knowledge of all the various modifiers and tricks that can be used to pull victory out of the jaws of defeat. Excluding the developers and beta testers, nobody has any of that. The screenshots are all randomly scattered over time and space; only three or four battle screenshots exist at all, and one of them is a naval battle. I don't think it's possible to make a gameplay AAR at this point, though it'd certainly be interesting to see somebody try.
As for my story, I'm contenting myself with the old clichéd cabinet meeting, but I'll be damned if I don't try to pull every bit of narrative value out of suc a setting.

It's not just a "sword", it has more power than you'll ever imagine. Can't tell people exactly what powers it has, because it will spoil the plot, but as I said before, you can look in to the Bible for a particular blade for a clue.

Well, it is one entry. I'm sorry that you meant one post. That's going to run into the image limit. I don't suppose I can have that waived?
The script is far south of 1500 words, but it's around 90 (small) images.

Whatever the entry is, it should be one that fits into one forum post. You have to make one large shot to get that many pics in (but in my mind, if it hits the forum limit now, which has been greatly expanded from the previous limit of 10, then you have too many pics. )
