Hearts of iron 4 in Beta

Ahh, but doing it before vacation could be just as bad. What happens if they release it just before they go on vacation and some major bug (that slipped past all the testing) crops up. Then you have to wait until the end of vacation until they even start to fix it...just saying.

I find it funny that I was reading an article the other day how HOI4 was due to have a release date in early 2015, it's now early 2016 and it's only just entering Beta. Good work everyone.....

This is exactly what I was thinking. June 6 would be good to give them plenty of time to work out any surprise bugs, before they go on their long summer holidays. Not to mention, that's the week my summer vacation starts...

Just that our national day is 6th of June, but that´s better as it would mean one month earlier!
I would guess that the release date they are aiming for is June 6th. This year, June 6th is a Monday (A business day), it's before Paradox's summer break and it allows them 4 months to finish up the game. Not to mention that even the box cover art is D-Day as well which helps with marketing materials/branding/identification.

Yeah I agree, and I am pretty sure they mentioned last year that they were upset at the delays as they wanted to release it on June 6th then, so would make sense they may be planning it again this year.
Although I do hope that if it is done in the start of May to just release it then, and not wait for a specific WW2 date.

That was before they delayed it though? If alpha lasted this long, beta may be just as long of a wait.That'd be awesome, and actually fits pretty well, too, given they've estimated it'll take 3-6 months to test the game once it reaches beta

Earliest possible date: may 5th. A National day in the netherlands, Bevrijdingsdag, Liberationday.

How are you getting this information? Did paradox tell you the release date?

Johan said last month that once the game would enter beta it would take 3-6 months before release, but that's no official confirmation at all, so technically they could still take all the time they want, but as he said, it's likely to be 3-6 months now...

It was also said the game would be released over a year ago lol. I can keep getting "disagrees" but I am not wrong to question the whole 3-6 month timeline. It is very likely it will be 3-6 months. It is ALSO very likely the beta will be extended just as the release date has been.

Dude it has been in development for years now. They postphoned it because they wanted a bugfree release, if they've done their job right, we shouldnt by release experience any major(or any) bugs at all or anything game breaking. Im almost certain it will be June. Worst case scenario early autumn.

They didn't postpone it for bug reasons, they postponed cause the game had negative feedback regarding usability and learning curve was too steep from the start...
To make HOI4 more accessible to those outside of the PDS games and that is always a good thing. I do hope an eary June release, update on this would be great cause I need to ask my week off for gaming...

Not if my understanding of how their beta submission/approval works is correct.
A while ago they said the beta was not approved because a number of things were wrong/missing.
Now beta has been accepted meaning that no critical part of the game is missing/not working.
This should imply that only balancing and minor bugs are left to fix, but the game essentially works.
It's not like they're going to wake up one of these days and say "oh, the division template system doesn't work, we need to postpone the game and come up with a whole new system".
I'm not saying that the 6 months limit is unmovable, I'm saying that we have all the reasons to think that the game will be released within that timeframe. Also, I would imagine it will come out before the summer break, because they probably want to have someone in the studio to make some quickfix patch in case it's needed.
Of course I could be wrong.
