Gotta love some of these jobs us old geezers have, where basically we created the job (or in my case changed it so much it doesn't match the job title/description anymore) and are the only one in the company who understand it.At work??? I definitely shouldn't have studied law...tell me more about this job, where i can put 4 hours in HOI4 per day...![]()
well it all started when I was a system admin... I'm pretty good at what I do so as long as there weren't any issues.... and when you're the one watching the network / computer systems... no one sees what you do
I still remember the day my boss called about high network latency and how a patch he was trying to download was taking forever... and I looked at my download manager and thought... my files are downloading just fine![]()

Hand sanitizers will be the downfall of civilization. We're killing off all the good germs to get to the bad!!!I was at work, and any scent of alcohol was the hand sanitizer.... no idea why it seemed to be emanating from my breath
If you had followed the forums 24/7 then you would have gotten to the sign up on time. Just an observation. I think I filled mine out probably a couple hours after first posting.
My guess is there are quite a few people who have experience with the whole HoI series signed up. They put it up on a Friday if memory servers me. Who loves the game and doesn't check for the DD on Friday.

Mannstien they will look at your profile ect., just because u signed up, doesnt mean you are in the beta! Also they had so much sign ups, so they had to close it and if someone do not contribute they will kick this Person out of beta and invite a new one. Maybe after going through and sort out people, they open it again.
if it's any solace they have added more betas to both CK2 and EU4 since they were first introduced. I'm sure there will be future calls for betas. Be active in the bug forum post release is the best advice I can give anyone that hope to get in at some point.I do hope that is the case, I spent a fair amount of time in the first year of the announcement for HOI4 providing feedback that I felt relevant to make this game better, experience taught me I'm not owed anything and hence I reserve any lame complaining, but for god sakes at least let me sign up then reserve the write based on my posts in HOI3 and HOI4 threads to speak for themselves. I honestly could care less about most of the other Paradox Titles though I have purchased a few and played them but HOI spoke to my heart since I found it and still play 2 and 3 for thousands of hours.
Edit: I'm also a Project Manager for an IT system so I know how to translate bugs into feedback that developers understand and have been doing so for 15 years. It might be different between a Business Software solution and a gaming one but the inevitability of needing to understand a bug and translate it into a productive feedback for developers is an acquired trait and I hope they get that from their list of those who signed up in time.
Edit2: Apologies, sometimes passion over comes logic.
Cheers
Mannstien

People with a life outside of gaming? As it happens I saw the advertisement a couple of days after it went up and personally decided I wouldn't want to apply as my life is busy enough as it is but not everyone has the chance to check the forums every Friday. Besides I know that I will often look at the forums, see the DD and click immediately for that rather than explore other threads, simply because I don't have the time or inclination to read other threads on Fridays.
If your life is literally so busy you don't have time to check a post on a game you that interested in I doubt you'd have the time to be part of a beta. Beta's are real work and why would you want to take a beta spot from someone who does have the time to make the game better if you don't have said time.
I know, hence why I decided (and had decided every paradox beta previously since HOI3 at least) that I didn't have the time to seriously consider applying for a beta. However your implication that not checking the forum on a Friday for the DD means that you don't love the game is unfair on those who are simply too busy to do so.
