Preamble: Some of you will probably think this is the anathema of everything you love and enjoy about HOI games... this isn't the thread for you, move along.

I've actually made a mod like this for just about every Paradox game I've ever played.
(CK2, Vic2, HOI3, EU4 (and soon HOI4...))

Like my 'Everyone is immortal and everyone hates each others, especially vassals and their lieges and free cbs for everyone CKII mod"

Or my 'mandatory war of conquest starts with all your neighbors every new years mod' for Victoria 2. (For some reason France always managed to conquer Spain quickly and then ROFLstomp the rest of Europe)

Essentially it's the everyone goes mad, absolutely stark raving war hungry mad mod.

Don't know why, I've just always loved games that fall apart into chaos, where the only thing you can expect is that everyone will betray you.

Based on what I've seen so far from the diaries etc these are alterations I'm planning to make, suggestions are welcome.
The guiding principle is this, any change that would make the world more chaotic and difficult to predict as well as preferably more warlike.
  • AI aggressiveness dolled up to 11/10
  • AI will break alliances/defect from factions etc the moment it senses any weakness
  • Everyone hates everyone with minimum relations at start
  • Everyone quickly turns Facist/Dictator and WT spirals to 100%
  • No restrictions on when anyone can declare war
  • Civil wars x2 easier to provoke (Perhaps I'll make an event that makes every country split into civil war day 1)
  • No PP cost to change conscription laws (Optional sub-mod that gives all countries unlimited manpower)
Optional Sub Mods:
  1. Unending War: Everyone has unlimited manpower.
  2. New Materials: 10% chance a country is given a 100% extra IC/factory modifier (hidden). You never know which, but a few countries in the world are twice as powerful each game
  3. Unstable Leader: 10% chance a country is given the 'wonderlust' modifier which makes the AI go to war with all its neighbors even if it has no chance of winning.
  4. We're all Super heroes: Every country has a 5% chance to get each of the following modifiers, if by some witch magic they manage to get multiple... well you get the idea.
    • Unlimited Manpower
    • 100% more industry
    • Troops never lose Org / Never surrender, only option is death.
    • Instant Battleplan preparation
    • Immunity to bombing
    • Ships don't use oil... oh wait they get that in Vanilla :p
    • +1000% dissent if you are not at war
    • Only navel ships allowed are battleships (and convoys)... but their battleships can be their own screens, detect subs and carry fight jets.
    • Cause a civil war in one of your neighbors every new years day
    • ... you get the idea, anything chaotic that I can tease out of the engine and scripts really.

"The only expectation is betrayal." That seems like an appropriate catchphrase.

Kinda reads like a 40k mod to be honest - though I probably shouldn't mention that as the zealots on the forum will probably inundate this thread with "burn the heretic" memes. Certainly not my cup of tea - quite the opposite actually - but I applaud your dedication to total war.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die ;)

Awesome idea. Just a quick question, how are you planning to make sure it's not the Soviet Union winning every game?

Luxembourg civil war must be interesting. Also if they get the 10% event for more IC they have a chance to become a great power: should be easy to annex Belgium, expecially if still split in two by civil war.

How are you planning to make sure it's not the Soviet Union winning every game?

Soviets are very much a 'slow waking' bear. Early war may well be crippling for them.

If there are smaller releasable nations I may well program an event that releases all nations as independent, effectively butchering the USSR.

Or modify the war events so that any nation neighboring the USSR only goes to war with the USSR until they are destroyed and then they war the rest of the world.

Maybe I'll just give the USSR a x10 dissent modifier to represent that no one could hold onto a nation that large if the worlds gone mad

Luxembourg civil war must be interesting. Also if they get the 10% event for more IC they have a chance to become a great power: should be easy to annex Belgium, expecially if still split in two by civil war.

Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a Luxembourg vs USA mode... would just need to add a few modifiers to make them an even match for each other...
