Mittelafrika AAR (With Moereich)

lA6Tw9t.png

Africa, a continent of untamed riches. People live there and then the Europeans came there. They started colonizing the continent with things. Brits, Dutch, Dutch who look weird and Germans. An unexpected element. Germans who look quite ordinary but are more Germans than you could ever imagine. We're taken in their river transportation, down, down, towards Mittelafrika. Once a native paradise where people worshipped their native gods but now a German colony. As the Germans tighten their grip Afrika and signals to the people and other colonial powers that the Germans are coming and staying.

Herman van Göring, an established Fighter Ace of Weltkrieg and a successful leader of the Alldeutsche Verband party has now been appointed as the Statthalter of Mittelafrika. Still hoping to become the Chancellor of Germany Göring has mostly neglected politics in Africa but his allies have openly claimed that Africa can be profitable for German Empire with proper leadership.

Mittelafrika home to many different cultures both European and Native is divided into thousands of districts with no central government or leadership. Will the task of making Africa profitable prove too much for Göring and his colonial administration or is he able to establish a stable Africa while the world powers shift in the aftermath of the Weltkrieg?

Stathalter Göring and the Mittelafrika Armed Forces
VDum4qP.jpg

Mittelafrika was for all purposes a colony of the German Empire even though it was allowed some autonomy in dealing with the local African nations such as Somalia but even after that Mittelafrika was dependant on the economic situation of Germany as well as having the Afrika Mark pegged by the German Mark. Mittelafrika had it's own armed forces, consisting of mostly Askari's loyal to Germany and some German soldiers together with volunteers seeking a better life as a mercenary. While Göring served as the Head of the Armed forces the army itself was led by General Hermann Detzner a well-known engineer and hero of the Weltkrieg. This army was, of course, supplied mostly from Germany and was lacking modern equipment and major reforms would have to be made in order for the Afrika Korps to par to the modern armies of Europe.
IpNP7aH.png

The navy consisted mostly of old Weltkrieg era destroyers that Germany had no more need. Admiral Max von Loof, another hero of the Weltkrieg and the Colonial War had the honour of leading the Mittelafrikan naval forces stationed at Dar-es-Salaam.

Africa is a vast continent and Mittelafrika covering huge tracts of land the most efficient way of travel was by air. Mittelafrika had it's own airfoce consisting of 40 Weltkrieg fighter planes and 30 Weltkrieg bombers. These, unfortunately, were divided around the nation

New Administration in the making

Even though Mittelafrika controlled large portion of Central Africa, it's control was largely dependant on several treaties set up with the natives and other European settlers in the region. But Göring had a plan to strengthen German control of Africa but it would require huge changes in the administration, some that could lead into trouble with the Fatherland.

Among of the European settlers, the Belgians were among the biggest group of settlers. After the Belgian Congo had been taken over by Mittelafrika the Belgian business owners didn't leave their African business behind but instead stayed in the former Congo regions and retained their influence over the economics of Africa.

While the Belgians influenced the economics the settlers of the former British colonies maintained a considerable presence with a large amount of Weltkrieg veterans. They had even established their own security forces to defend their settlements from natives as well as possible suppressive actions by the Germans.

Göring - I pity the poor folks of Mittelafrika.

Cool it with the anime tank girls and this could be a fine AAR.

The situation on the African continent and something black

rrmh1w9.jpg

Weltkrieg on the African continent had lead to trivial situations when Entente occupied the German colony of East Africa and our German heroes occupied Mozambique in return. Thousands upon thousands were recruited on each side to fight on this war in Africa leading to us being of course forced to punish those who betrayed Germany. Some of them managed to escape our justice and are now residing in the Portuguese colonies of Mozambique and Angola, where if our sources are right the extremist of Portugal are planning to use them against us and cause even more instability.

But those were the least of our worries. On the 3rd of February 1936, the Berlin Stock Exchange came crashing down, effectively ending the German Golden Age, for now. This event became known as Black Monday.
AeEOdIL.png

Since our African economy was dependent of the German economy Black Monday had huge effects on us and Göring and his cabinet would have to choose between their reforms or cutting back spendings in order to stabilize the situation in Africa.

And if Göring was not bad enough :D

I like my anime girls how i like my empires

This aint a serious AAR thus the lewd anime girls

*cringe* They aren't lewd. They are just lame and they make you seem like a 15 year old 4chan weaboo. If you care about anyone following this AAR, I would lose them but whatever.

I think it's the complete opposite. I believe that this is honestly quite unique and creative, not everything has to focus upon realism and whatnot. If you don't like it, then don't read it. No need to ruin the story for anybody else

Four Year Plan and the World of News

Stathalter Göring wasn't that concerned about the effects of Black Monday in Africa since it would mostly affect those in Dar-es-Salaam and the natives would just live in ignorance. So Göring decided to go forth with introduction of the Four Year Plan, which would in his mind make Africa profitable for Germany and boost his popularity. The plan was to include the creation of an Anthropological exhibition, completely rehauled naval construction business for Africa as well as buying serious numbers of Japanese comics.

Not everyone, of course, was happy that Göring had been appointed as the Stathalter of Africa and there were those who wanted to get him removed. Thus they were constantly seeking new ways of trying to get rid of him. But thanks to defence lawyer Carl Schmitt who was defending the former Stathalter Wilhelm Solf had come up with a new precedent; "Sovereign is he who decides on the exception". This had become Göring's favourite phrase and he also liked the implication of a Sovereign Stathalter

In World news after the Black Monday a lot of things were happening, the Anglos were fighting against Afghanistan for the 5th time, Kerensky had been assassinated in Russia and some trouble was brewing in the lapdog Kingdom of Finland. One of these news was that Democracy had been restored in Australasia after Governor General William Birdwood was replaced by Stanley Bruce's United Australasia Party in the early elections of 1936.

The National France State in Africa had decided to replace President Petain but instead of replacing him with another president they decided to restore the long-dead monarchy. How French of them.
ri74E9K.png

The Syndicalist, totalist and socialist nations held their First International Congress where they would discuss the plan how to bring forth the destruction of democratic world.
RnpftKY.png

In the aftermath of the assassination of President Kerensky, Pyetr Vrangel also known as Black Baron, a hero of the Russian Civil War had seized the power in Russia together with the rest of the military leaders. While being well received with the conservatives of the Duma this provoked the leftist elements of the Duma to openly declare independence in Petrograd and Moscow region under Nikolay Bukharin. With Vrangel unwilling to compromise with the Reds he massed his armies and started marching towards Moscow, plunging Russia into a 2nd Civil War.

Poor Russia.

Even poorer Mittelafrika.

Die Neue Völkerchau

Görings master plan to bring easy profit for Africa was to create an ethological exposition showcasing what Africa has to offer. In his mind this "circus" would be the most profitable in the world and would also act as PR thing for his Reich.
8Qol9yw.png

Germany, on the other hand, was cutting off unprofitable assets and one of those was The DKAEB, railway company in charge of linking Congo Basin to Djibouti through Ethiopia. Not willing to let the railway fall into enemy hands Göring ordered the buying of the Mittelafrikan section of the railway.

Göring had always been a keen hunter and an animal lover in the sense that he loved to have animals to hunt. So the Four Year Plan included laws to protect those species that were endangered in Africa, at least until there was enough of them for Göring to hunt.

Summer 1936 saw the DNV arriving to Berlin where it was greeted by over 1 million people and the German government was more than happy about the fact that people had something else in their mind than the aftermath of Black Monday and that now instead of worrying about could they afford to feed their children they were all flocking to see African Natives riding Ostriches and Zebras.

Göring has a master plan... be afraid :D

Secular and Proving

Among the German secular schools for proper German kids in Africa there were schools set up by the Anglos as well as the Belgians, schools that taught their kids about creationistic ideas and that Pope in Rome was 2nd to God. This of course would in long run create problems while these missionaries would try to convert the local population. Thus Görind administration came up with the idea of enforcing laws for German secular school monopolies.
ZUXACRz.png

After a successful gig in Berlin, the DNV moved to Vienna, even though not as successful as the gig in Berlin it still served as a show of the capabilities of Africa.

While other nations trained their administrators for years and years and years in Africa we didn't have such luxury and more conventional ways had to be brought up. One of those methods was to send that aspiring of a career in African administration to the Namibian desert for one week to survive harsh training and research.

Then trouble hit the Empire. In German East Asia a rebellion had risen up in the southern tip of Indochina. Would Germany be able to keep its hold of Indochina or would von Mücke be left alone.
miOjO5m.png

I do wonder precisely how time in Namibia makes a better administrator - though I can quite believe it ends up with a hardier individual (or a broken one, I suppose). But then, perhaps that is the point - someone able to survive there display the right attitude.

Hu, ha, hu, ha... hu, ha, hu, ha...

In Argentina Manuel Carles had assumed full control of Argentinan, minus the southern part of Patagonia where the Socialists were holding their lairs. Would this change the situation in there? Well only time tells.
UCYVBu6.png

The Brits on their islands had elected Niclas y Glais from the Welsh side as their Chairman. Would this see Britain divided into three autonomous states under one Union? Who knows.

In Italy, the syndicalists secured the majority in the Congress, showing Mussolini and his totalists the door.

The Russian civil war was still going on and there was no clear victor yet but it was already affecting the mental health of those in neighbouring nations such as Mongolia. Mongolia had been ruled by Roman Ungern von Sternberg after the 1st Russian Civil War who had now together with Tibet defeated the Ma Family Clique, which now had given Mongolia huge tracts of land and von Sternberg had decided that he is Genghis Reborn.

Rather nice to see a KR AAR with Niclas come to power in Britain. I almost always sees Moseley in AARs I read.
