Entering the War
"The order has been restored Herr Göring. Final resistance pockets has been eliminated and those who surrendered have been executed. As ordered" von Hippel said during his presentation of recent military efforts against the rebels.
"Good, good. Have you moved the army to the South African border as I instructed?"
"Yes but was that really necessary. I'm sure that without the backing of Commune and the Internationale, the South Africans won't press their claims forward. And we have reinforced our beaches with guard divisions and fortresses." von Hippel answered with a look of uncertainty on his face.
"Excellent. Now order your generals to cross the border and head south. We are going to war my dear Field Marshall. "
"But sir? That would mean that we go against the Internationale? Is that wise?" von Hippel asked.
"What are they going to do? Invade us? From the sea. Hah. Now if you've reinforced our beaches they have no chance against us."
"Internationale is busy in Europe now that they have the Russians to worry about. South Africa will be ours before they can even react."
"As you say Herr Göring" von Hippel answered.
"And tell your generals that I want South Africans defeated by the end of November. OR I will replace them. Including you. Understood?"
"As you wish" von Hippel said as he left the room.
Of course our declaration of war against South Africa brought in the declaration of war from Commune of France and rest of the Internationale but that was a mere formality.
"Sir Kirchheim, Jünger and Ramstedt have begun the assault against the South Africans. Their first reports tell that there is only few divisions on the enemy side. " von Hippel reported.
"Good. I want them to take Johannesburg by the beginning of November. "
"Very good" von Hippel replied.
"Also it is important that we do not waste time on securing those southern ports. We cannot risk Internationale sending reinforcements."
By the end of October the South African were on the run.
General Kirchheim engaged enemy forces in Johannesburg in October 22nd. The battle was over in few days and Freistaat flag was hoisted in every flag pole that was still standing.
As ordered the generals defeated the South Africans before November was over. Officially South African government accepted the unconditional surrender in November 29th 1943 around noonish.
*Enewald wanted this so now we are in the war. If we lose blame Enewald.
