I was expecting a little more industry improvement, like having bureaucrats replacing the role of capitalists in planned economies or a "build all" button for every railroad in the country, but oh well. I also figure that it's too late to ask for Rylock's proposed changes to the core system, considering the fast-approaching release date.

i like what i read, though i'm concerned about the look of railroads on map. Since railroads were such an important part of economic development back then, i wish we had some kind of "Railroad Tycoon" liberty.

Factories already use your RGOs
but will factories specifically use the resources (both rgo and factory outputs) in their state? is this a prequisite for the bonus, or simply just by being in the same state grants the bonus?

The "build all" feature would be a welcomed addition. Hopefully they can include such a feature in the first couple of patches after the release. Overall, it looks like HoD will dramatically improve Vicky II, and I am very pleased about that. Can't wait for the 16th!

So I'm already sold, when I can I purchase the pre-order? :)

Yay for release date! But when will it be out on GG? I'm waiting to pre-order as well, and hoping for a nice little pre-order bonus. :)

Edit: Also wondering what the forum icon will be. Maybe a little Africa shape?

It had better be on GG, I have a GG copy of Victoria 2 and AHD, and my experience so far has been GG and Steam versions are incompatible, so if you have a GG version and buy a Steam expansion it doesn't work.

Hope they release it on GG as well as Steam, though it does seem that Paradox is gearing towards more Steam downloads.

If it is available for GG then I definately plan on buying it. If they do preorders I will also preorder it. This expansion sounds great.

Instead of a throughput bonus, maybe it would be better as a bonus to input efficiency, to represent the cheaper cost of getting the goods locally?

This. Makes way more sense.

Just cause the mines or whatever are closer doesn't mean more ore is going to be produced, just the transport costs will be reduced. This would better be represented by increased input efficiency.

If they have released victoria 2 and ahd at gg (as they did) you can bet for sure that this expansion will also be released at gg. The contarry would be losing a good number of potential customers for just some more work

So until now making factories that consume the resources made in that province had no advantage whatsoever? Because that's always how I made my factories, it seemed logic... now I feel robbed of the time I spent deciding on what would be the best factory for each province :(

My thoughts exactly... :)

I always thought this one was somehow hidden in the game, glad to see it finally made it in. :)

As I already wrote: I guess those points will be taken into account once VIC 3 programming starts.

Lets see when it begins...

The last change I’m going to mention today is that you receive a 100% boost to influencing your Satellite and Dominion nations, which makes it a lot easier to keep them in your SoI:
FINALLY
Now if only we could also get some guarantee that Satellites and Dominions and Substates couldn't become Great Powers without first fighting for their Independence. This might make forming the South German Federation as Austria actually worthwhile rather than the quickest way for Austria to lose all of their Influence in Germany and just wind up with yet another German Rival who instantly hates their guts.

This is way cool. The industry changes will really help to differentiate the industrial map of the world so to say. Makes different regions unique. Takes these unique features into consideration. Now Rhineland can be a vreally great industrial area just like it was. I've been contemplating on doing a mod about electricity, and this could perhaps be useful for such a mod too.

Hmm, I wouldn't be so sure, it's just a throughput bonus, which becomes less and less important for industrial powers as game goes on. Late in the game, the problem is getting people to buy your stuff, not how many you can create.

Input bonus would have made more sense.
