Head Moderator Pre-Election Thread

Folks,

This thread will be used to discuss the election process. It will work in two phases:

1) Nominate potential candidates
2) I will then close this thread and vault it. I'll open a new one where each current active players will have one vote.

So please, go ahead and nominate people.

To the first question, nominate 3 or 4 if you want, but we'll have to trim down the list at one point if we get, say, 10 candidates. The good scenario is having under 5 candidates, to get some legitimacy for the next Head Mod.

To the second question, the players who left after BzAli resignation are allowed to nominate and vote.

Since SaT was nominated, I nominate F2 for position of head-mod.

The game cant keep everyone's trust if the mods share similar beliefs. If they show any bias, the head mod's job should be to keep them in check. (I say this while I also believe SaT is an honourable player and could be a good mod)

While both SaT and myself would make good head mods, the two of us share one thing: We haven't been EU:M mods before.

Longinus has, and I nominate him with confidence.


(I also respectfully accept the nomination by Praetor, even though, as he put it, I'm a "Dark horse", IE: very much an underdog.)

So, finally I can compose a suitable reply here.

First of all I’d like to express my gratitude to those who believe I could be a good Head Mod, I appreciate such opinions guys, thx a lot. I must admit that I even think I could be a decent one, I have some experience as the game master and I think I know what players usually want. I have been on both sides, as a regular player and mod, so I am aware how it works. I know the frustrations of both sides, believe me.

However, at the same time, I really doubt players would be bale to accept my wish to stay as a player of the Greifs (and I think I am not ready to drop them if the changes will occur here), besides others could view as biased, favoring some players over others despite my attempts to be fair. Furthermore, let’s face it, I was labeled a troublemaker by some guys here, I don’t think I am credible enough among them to be the Head. Becoming the Head for the price of loosing some players who don’t believe in me? Definitely ain’t worth it. Try to convince that I am wrong on all those things, but I doubt you will manage to do so

Thus, I must to decline this nomination. Instead I would like to propose someone else.

I have been talking with some ppl lately and among them there is one (in)sane enough to take this gauntlet, I am talking about our current Nat Stats man cccino here.

I think that few can associate 3c with any “group” on the board, he has been always moderate and balanced man, never accused of anything. He played Freisland, Hungary and Carinthia, always receiving applause for these roles. He is great player, person and mod, I think he could fill in the shoes pretty well. Think about it guys.

Cccino already expressed his willingness to listen to the players and introduce the reforms, hell, he was the only mod in the current mod team who was given no power and influence, recently he was openly showing his dissatisfaction with the affairs of the game. I believe he might be a good guide and head for the reforms and game. I have respected him for a long time now.

While I keep F2 and SaT in highest regards, think for a while lads, some say SaT is too soft, while others say F2 is too hard (too anti-Katzstatic or whatever). cccino might as well be the middle road, these are, at least, my thoughts. Now hit me for how wrong I am (but not here, let's take it to the Asylum or whatever).

EDIT: as for the free time, which is in fact very important factor that crippled the game during the last months of Bz's reign. cccino confirmed that he will on-line quite a lot.

I respect the nominations so far, but i'd also like to put forward our previous event-mod, Ladislav - though i'm not certain he'd have the time to commit. I do remember him as a wonderful event mod though, and he's always come off as able and impartial.

I'm quite happy how this is turning out, for personnal reasons. Some know why

So, as I had announced, I won't be presenting myself as head mod. I'll be transitioning to the new mod, and continue to do the treaties until we find a new treaty mod. Depending on the outcome, I'll be petitionning BiB to get that person the new RPG mod status, as well as admit him within what is now referred to the most secretive RPG mod forum, where we all talk behind your back and initiate newcomers using goats and barrels of beer (for which yours truly is moderator... yes, I moderate the moderators, how IRONIC!)

Think of it as freemasons.
