Why does it seem like almost every child gets this event? It is too frequent.
Literally all children with an educator possessing two attributes that are 12+ will receive this ambitious event from a list of two other options -- one for patient and another for diligent. This happens at age 14 (or at least it should). Furthermore, educators will always do what's in the interest of the child, even if the educator hates your character or child, so one nefarious tactic is sending a child to someone you hate and watching them voluntarily hurt themselves with one of the option penalties. Fun stuff.
One thing I recommend doing is hogging a bunch of 12/12 stat characters for educational farming. Ideally, don't gift children to stressed characters, because then they can't gift them the diligent option, which is arguably the best of three choices due to the diligent trait acting as a genius/quick boost to promoting a better chance of 4-star educational traits. If a 12/12 character is stressed, invite them for carousing for a chance of removing their stressed trait. Remember, age 14 is the deadline, so factor this in to who you send children to for educating.
