It's already available. Just fast forward: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/343727858

Not much new info during the Q&A except for confirmation of the Marauder and Warhammer (someone finally got it out of Mitch after all the months of silence)

Finally!

Now I can shift my complaining to the absence of the Wasp, Stinger, Crusader, Rifleman, Archer, and Longbow.

Thanks, HBS!

Seriously, though, any plans to add the Wasp, Stinger, Crusader, Rifleman, Archer, and Longbow?

They talked about the unseen generally. So all those were covered. Though only generally, even the Warhammer and Marauder.

Phoenix Hawk baby!

Hopefully...

I can't believe I forgot the Phoenix Hawk.

So are you saying that the Unseen - some or all of them - are definitely coming (God willing and the river don't rise)?
I only watched the vid once, feel free to take a peak yourself, but they said "the unseen".
It wont be today, or tomorrow, or soon, or even before urban warfare.
Thats all we know iirc.

That sounds like solid confirmation that all of the Unseen are definitely, 100% positively right around the corner. I'll adjust my expectations accordingly.
I dont know about all, but we'll see. :)
I know everyone will WANT all of them, me too.

I especially would like;

Unfortunately for those of you who are looking forward to MW5, the latest trailer is an abysmal example of how little PGI has done since the first [CGI] trailer and the subsequent in-game reveal. I mean, apart from a thin coat of Unreal paint, there's not much there which one with a bad eye sight could distinguish from MWO.

9 months till release. Remembering the amount of things HBS couldn't fit into the final game in that period of time and I weep for the future of the Mechwarrior IP under PGI.

"how little PGI has done"

Really, MW5 having its core gameplay mechanics fleshed out in MWO and modified means that PGI probably has put a decent chunk of effort into other parts of the game that a ~5 minute combat demo isn't going to show you. The merc sim side of the game hasn't been showcased. We just have a fairly limited scope to judge the game's progress from this end, and a merc sim trailer isn't the big trailer you want to put out for mass market appeal--big stompy robots in co-op blowing stuff up is.

Mechcon 2018 is the last major event with a concentration of mech fans. Either PGI had nothing to show or [Mod edit: Disrespect] at using this tremendous marketing and promo opportunity. Compared to the 2016 reveal hype, which is more of a CGI trailer than a sneak peak at this point, this reveal is a huge step backwards.

MWO's combat is a mess after all these years and stacking on co-op and AI and you have a balancing nightmare which to run a merc sim from. But, if as you said, MWO's combat is fine as is, then what has PGI been doing after nearly two years since public announcement? Whatever was shown is certainly not something that would wow those who experienced MWO and certainly does not reflect the progress of a well-run studio.

I didn't say MWO's combat is fine as is, but at it's core the gameplay mechanics are rather fleshed out. ie, they already have functional mech combat and knowledge of how to make that work.

MWO's balance is fairly solid right now, but that's comparing apples to oranges. MWO has to try to balance PvP, which is much harder. MW5 can allow things to be OP, since bots don't care if they are getting trashed repeatedly. The setting is also easier to balance out, since the tech level is lower and there are fewer options available to begin with (see MWO and civil war era tech balance, for reference).

This is the first time we've seen co-op running and functional. This is the first time we've seen a tidbit of the main story arc.

Like I said, it is also about mass market appeal. Even though it's a trailer at MechCon, that trailer is going to be spread around to non-mech fans in various places soon*. Most of us mech fans are already going to buy MW5 anyway. We're already hooked enough to be discussing it here. lol Imagine, if you will, that you hadn't played a Mechwarrior game since MW4 and didn't really get into MWO and PvP. This trailer would probably have you hyped.

I get it, it isn't the most exciting trailer ever that gets me super hyped, but I also don't think it's fair to say PGI is just dropping the ball.

To me, if they really didn't care PGI would have released Mechwarrior 5 already the fact that they are willing to prolong the development to get it right means they are trying to release a good product... look at EA if you want to see what happens when studios are forced to release a product by a deadline Quality be damned you get Mass effect Andromeda and Dragon Age 2.

Can we give some appreciation for Eck who acted as the straight man to Mitch's attempt to become Mason "Tactical Genius" Garrilac on stage?

That match was actually pretty balanced for the sides, when you look at it.

Jordan: HCT-3F, CRB-27, CP-10-Z, LCT-1V
Mitch: FS9-H, VTR-9B, HCT-3F, WVR-6R

Mitch may have had the jump advantage Jordan complained about, but the Victor couldn't make it to the battle until late (and is notoriously lightly armored like the Cyclops), and the Firestarter isn't really bringing its best effect to the Crab, Locust, and Hatchetman of the opposing force. It's flashy, but without some 'can opening' it's adding heat without doing much. The reason Jordan was losing was shots and strikes just . . . doing the X-Com miss. ("80% chance to hit? Watch me take a right angle turn away from the target.")

That's some rose tinted outlook you have there. I read it as "omg, we screwed up and need 30% more dev time to make the game even remotely presentable". What's the difference between a [mod edit: language] up delay and needing time to properly polish a game? Just look at the difference between HBS's post-delay communication and PGI's...do they even talk to their player base? Yup, zero dev diary, no Q&A, complete in-the-dark development and so very little progress to show off between two mechcons.

We are NOT talking about a company with a good track record and smart development decision/pipeline here.
