Having chapters is great, but having a replayability sandbox is SUPREME

A balance is needed between a story and the immersion to feel like a vampire than is only reachable with replayable freedoom and open world sandbox elements. I would like BL2 to be a little more skyrim for longer longevity of the game and to be more expandable with DLCs and mods.

Maybe im just reeding it wrong, but ... when you talk about ballance between story and immersion ... what exactly do you mean? o_O
I dont think one excludes the other, so there is nothing to ballance in the first place.

Aswell as i dont really understands how does Open World affect any of those. o_O

I mean ...
First Bloodlines was not Open World game at all ...
And it was Immersive as hell, had great Story ... and personaly i totally felt like a Vampire playing it ... so ... what am i missing here? :D

Unless the whole message was simply "i like Skyrim and want more games like Skyrim" ...

Wich would be perfectly legit opinion ofc ... but kinda too late for that im affraid ...
Bloodlines 2 was never, ever, ever advertised as open world game ... so unless Chineese Room decided to change this aspect (and honest i dont think they did, concidering that single trailer we got so far) ... it most likely remained hub-oriented game, just as first Bloodlines was. :-/

First: Sandbox doesn't equal open world, Baldurs Gate 2 doesn't have an open world but is very sandbox, it has an explorable region only on this chapter and you lose access to it on the next chapter but gain access to a different map. This is a balance between sandbox and story. In a sandbox you have enough things to do in the order you want except when you advance in the main story. Also the things you can do will affect story later in different ways when you advance the story or visit a small zone of the map where a high quality secondary quest awaits you and lets you act as you want to roleplay your character: scheming and backstabbing, benevolent but rude, charismatic and diplomatic, and more... this gives immersion and replayability with sandbox elements.

Starfield is a more open world game with everything at your disposition as long as you are leveled enough in your skills. This offers less inmersion but is easier to refill the world with quests and dungeons like skyrim. Its replayable with mods that expand variety. And also in this style of game you don't feel affecting the world enough., I asked for a sandbox and immersion, not open world.

when there's no sandbox does mean is more like a visual novel or like an on-rails shooter, very little rpg there. Sandbox and TT rpg are almost the same.

Yup ... thats why i said that i see no connection between them. ;)
And i still dont. :D

So ...
You are talking about developers focus, rather than ballancing two independend elements of game, right?

I mean ...
If your message is "I want both so ... dont forget to the other while you focus on the first!" ... then yeah, +1, no questions asked! :)

But when you mentioned ballance, it implied to me that you would like them to reduce one thing, so it dont overshadow the other ... and i dont really think that is necessary ... Baldur's Gate III. is HUUUUUGE sandbox with lots and lots and lots and lots of options ... and yet their story is awesome. :)
On the other hand, Bloodlines 1 was focused on the story ... with little to none intention to make it like sandbox ... im not even sure if sandbox games was even done back then. :D And it didnt stand in the way for it to become cult clasic.

Well ...
This is basicaly just definition of sandbox.
And since adding replayability, or allowing people to have their story "what they make it" ... is basicaly its sole purpose, then ... duh, i gues? :D

As VtM:Bloodlines showed us ... this is not true. ;)

I mean, if its your prefference, then yeah ... why not, all the power to you (or something like that people usualy say? dunno, english is not my first, nor second, nor even third language).

Just dont present your opinion as a fact, you diminish its value rather than improve it. ;)
Just a suggestion, take whatever you want from it. ;)

Is a fact, and I never did talk about open world in my first post and you have made up things I didnt say. Your whole debate doesnt make sense.

BL 1 is not a masterpiece of action rpg, is just ok. I did enjoy more Vampire Swansong even if I would have prefered having a lot more sandbox choices and action.
