I finished the game,
You never meet Kyros, and Sirin teases the player character as to where Kyros is Male or Female. It's also not Tunon, as I killed all the Archons. Not sure if you're joking, but kills in shadows can be killed without being recruited, so definitely not her.

Aw man, and I expected Kyros to at least be implied to be someone like us who found a connection to the Spires and/or Oldwalls. It would make sense with why you're not supposed to enter the Oldwalls.

  • Kyros can still take an action independent from Tunan, Mark, Ash or Nerat
  • She could still send armies here and there
  • It is said that Archonts benefit from mythos around them, a lot of power comes from others admiting your power. Many times others was disappointed with Fatebinder look. Kyros is probably disappointing herself.
  • Havent seen Kyros.

SPOILERS ahead :)

After finishing the game and learning how magic works in Tyranny´s world, I´m sure Kyros is a real person. Archon magic in this game takes a page from Terry Pratchett´s Small Gods, in the sense that the more people that fear/revere an Archon, the more powerful he becomes. You´re told that all the Archons started as normal persons with a natural gift for magic, and only after their legend started to grow, they started to have real magical powers. And that Kyros always keeps an eye for archons wannabes and kills them asap before they gain real powers. Same happens with the artifacts and same happens to our main char (thus the power meter in the char screen).

So I guess Kyros cultivates his mysterious god-like status to actually achieve god-like powers. He also most likely has a big-ass resonator in his castle to prepare his Edicts.

I was actually going to ask this question so instead of starting a new thread I will ask here. I think it was the first time I talked to Tunon and we get to ask more personal questions I picked right up on Tunon refering to Kyros as a she and it turned out my PC noticed this as well and we could bring it up. However it was late and I was tired and I got a little click happy and I missed what he had to say about that, can someone here fill me in?

Prior to playing the game, I figured Kyros was some sort of higher plane entity. But what Siren says throws a big wrench into that. This has me convinced along the lines of red4scare.

Tunon said:
"Beware of that trajectory of thought. Save for her perfection, there is little about Kyros to which we could ascribe recognizable attributes. A power as distant and unknowable as the Overlord should transcend our petty dualities."
From what we see of the Archons a lot of them lose their human form and become more like human shaped Banes, which is an interesting thought in itself, so it is quite possible that Kyros simply isn't human enough to have a sex anymore.

This is indeed correct

You can also pick up that Sirin calls Kyros she and he in different conversations you can point that out to her and ask her which is it? She simply says she at least wants some power in the relationship so she won't tell us.

I think mark refers to kyros as she and when you ask him what is kyros gender he pretty much goes

Wouldn't you like you know?

act 3 spoilers On archon's changing form with time.

If you legally get a right execution on nerat and beat him he asks you do you want any advice? Of course being the baby Archon and he is my elder I said yes. He tells you that there is always someone greater than you out there and he also said to be careful and "we were not always green flames and made up of secrets." So yeah I think Archons change in looks and power as the years go by I mean Tunon is obsessed with justice and he pretty much looks like a judge. Mark has glowing yellow eyes and is surrounded by shadows all the time.

Tunon doesn't only look like a judge, he has become justice itself, according to sirin she doesn't even feel a person within him anymore, he has literally become the personification of the law

my take on kyros is that you see him/her as you believe the master of the world would look like
think a powerfull archmage? you get it, think a dominating warlord? you get it

that's why the people who are close to him don't know wether he's male or female, they know they only see what they expected to see and so they really can't be sure

That is probably the most accurate answer it would be funny if the developers tally up how many times you call kyros she or he and upon meeting kyros he/she is that gender. I ashe acts like a crazy war general that always massacres the enemy his thought is rigid and unchanging.

I suspect he still looks rather human due to the fact that he is actually quite a young Archon nerat is older than him.

I don't think nerat is older then kyros

when he tells his origin story he pretty much tells that as a youngster he sacrificed his whole family just so he wouldn't be executed as a traitor by kyros

of course this is from the mouth of the archon of secrets so take that story with an entire salt mine

I did not say he was older than kyros I was talking about Ashe. Nerat is older than him.
