Have to use automatic transport even for land movement

Just installed the latest version of the game plus all DLCs on my new iMac and started playing as Castile. If I want to move an army I'm asked if I want to use automatic naval transport, even though the route is entirely by land (even if it's just the adjacent province). If I turn off automatic transport on my fleets I can't move any land armies at all. Any suggested fixes or workarounds? Thank you in advance.

- Update - just started a game as Muscovy and can't move any armies at all, presumably because I don't have any fleets

If your game is paused, try unpausing and letting a day or two tick by before moving the army.

No luck I'm afraid. The armies won't move, even though the pointer icon has a little green arrow. I just get a dull 'thud' and nothing happens. Same with Muscovy - the game won't let me move anyone.

can you post a screen shot? also you may try to repair game in steam that sounds weird

Your shift (or is it control) key isn't stuck on your keyboard, is it? You can hold that down to force your armies to use boats, otherwise I'd verify install and if that doesn't work reinstall fully.

It's control. and I never knew about this.

OK - I realise what the problem is. I'm using a Mac mouse with control to emulate a right button, but when I hold control down it activates automatic transport. If I plug in a two button mouse the problem is fixed. Thank you everyone for your help in identifying the issue

-Update - the Mac mouse can be configured to recognise right mouse clicks so you don't need a two button mouse.
