So this play through has been a weird mess from the start, starting even more difficult than I expected then alternating between hilarious and frustrating.
The objective was simple yet big: the Manifest Mexico achievement

Those are the conditions of the achievement:

If I read it right, I need the Pacific Coast and Great Plains region. It was not clear if I needed to directly own them, so in doubt I annexed the Hudson Bay Company. I haven't finished integrating them, but I doubt it could be a problem, would it?

Please don't mind Ontario and New Brunswick, those guys keep revolting every few years just to get attention. I took no part in it. Can't say the same about New York and Washington british treaty ports.

It seems you not only need to have a greater rank than the US, but to actually be a Great Power. As you can see in the screen, I am a Great Power, to say the least.

Also, the US need to be either dead or at most a Major power.

AS you can see they are a Major Power. They are not the United STATES of America, but would if it doesn't count them as the USA tag, it should them consider the USA tag as dead, right? I'm not proficient in tag voodoo.

I did my best to save my best buddy USA from communism afraid it would bug the achievement, but winning the war was not enough, like in reality americans love communism way too much.

Nice hat on my general huh? It makes all autocratic baldies mad.

Oklahoma is in Dixi region, like Texas. I'm currently hoping for them to have a Nth rebellion so I can MAGA them, maybe it will helps. I can't change their government by force because we are too close when they are council republic and I am wealth voting presidential republic...

I searched for the definition of "owned_great_plains_region_states" and found it in scripted_triggers/00_scripted_triggers.txt

Looks like you do need to have Oklahoma.

The name/ideology of the USA tag shouldn't matter, I did the Empire Under the Pun achievement with Great Britain being the British Republic.

Well thank you very much, I would never have though of that I was so certain it was about the Strategic Region.

I suspect Oklahoma was put in Dixie to make clean borders, but geographically it should absolutely be Great Plains (if for no other reasons that there's a large patch of the Great Plains still preserved in the state.
