haven't played for 1 or 2 weeks,have started several wars now and my troops are constantly getting trashed.
for instance i attack with more than 2:1 ratio,defender got no terrain boni,we both have full morale,their leaders are as shitty as mine...and I'm getting absolutely slaughtered.

so since this happened several times i adapted a defensive position,i blocked my enemies ways with troops in mountains,my 30k defending against their 20k and i got of course mountain def bonus,I'm still getting slaughtered.

either i got tremendous bad luck the last 10 battles or somethgin was changed with the recent patches?

That is very odd. I actually defeated a vastly superior army recently in defense just by having insanely good generals on them. The only thing I sorta know of is that cavalry is no longer as effective in forests, hills and mountains as it used to be. Beyond that, nothing much has changed.

Were you tribal by any chance, fighting anything but tribal? If so, heavy infantry and cavalry will wreck you a little later into the game.

There are some odd outcomes in my experience but one thing that does seem to have changed is more emphasis on the melee phase so if you have a lot more light infantry you might well be getting mullered during that by enemies with more heavy infantry and pikes etc. One bit of bullshit that I imagine still goes on but isn't new is the way a battle will drag on until enemy reinforcements arrive even when you've clearly won much earlier - though that's probably as much confirmation bias on my part.

Hard to tell, if we don't know composition of armies. One change I'm aware of is nerf for all-light_cavalry armies - they now get unorganized harrass in skirmish, instead of proper god-slaying harrass (which is sill available btw, but not for all-LC armies).
