we must be patient... EU1 didn't have a solid MP player base and neither will EU2... you just need to wait for people to understand that MP is fixed now... Playing EU1 MP was annoying!

I have the game. I will play anyone. But I want to play as either China(Mein Gott, they are insanely powerful) or the Incas/Aztecs(wow, talk about easy land grabs). No European nations(I waste my money on mercs, instead of important things like repaying loans, buying the queen flowers, fixing the toilet...
So, anyone wants to play, I will be online all day, a beer by my side, and visions of diplo annexing Dai Viet and Korea dancing through my head...

OK, I did some experimenting last night. I have a cable modem, and now I'm gonna tell all of you how to stop V-net from locking up if you have cable.
ALWAYS turn your cable modem off and on RIGHT BEFORE you click on the V-net button.
Then you should be fine. Atleast I was!

Eh, once again I go in and nobody is there...c'mon, taking over the world by myself gets annoying after a bit.
Well, I have tried playing an MP game. In fact, just tried. I got to the loading screen, heard the fanfare, then it froze on the "waiting for player(s)..." screen. Not good. Not good at all.
And getting the "No ip found at that address" when try and join a game, well, I would think that using the Valkreinet provided would eliminate that. I guess not.
Well, I will try a game, IF I can actually get into one and play. Well, ...

Dang sorry to hear that.... my assumption was that a successful Paradox male programmer who worked on EU2 (aka Strategy Game of the Year for 2001-2002) should be able to get *any* girl he wants now....

thanks patric, ijust checked my mailbox, no eu2, nuttin but bills. all the reading in the forum, i never picked up on the fact that v-net was part of eu2. my bad. thanks again for the help.

Good news
I just hosted a game on v-net with Blade (Spain) and Hansmeister (Russia) that (while it lasted) seemed pretty stable - 1492 to 1500.
The game did crash, as well as another game going on at the same time.
Have to tell you though, playing MP even for only 8 years was great!
I don't know if this made any difference (crash)we had a fourth player who bailed around 1497.

It first tried to search for channels -try 1.
Then it tries again-try 2. then it locked up my comp. I rebooted and am on my way to try again.

btw...once you get on v-net, it appears you want to go to "EU2_War" channel. From what others have posted, turn off Zone Alarm before you go.
hmm.locked up again. I walked away from my computer to see if it was just extremely slow , but it was locked up. I can't move the pointer at all. It says it is trying to search for channels , and then it locks up. This is weird for I was there last night with no promlems.
another update...2nd MP game went well. Played age of exploration (1600.) One of player didn't make it in. Left two of us, from my end game ran very smooth. Other player had to go - we played about 6 years. Didn't end in crash however

Yup! It was lots of fun too! Watch out Turkey is a hot bed of rebellion!
Well, I am going to check right now, if no one is there, I'll have another go at the Aztecs, and hope I get that random conversion event. Please, please, please?
