It happens in Vanilla, if you hate it so bad CK2+ curbs that to almost none, but the assassins rarely do anything very bad to you. You can always get more wives, new courtiers replace the now dead ones, and can always make more daughters.

Decadence created my yuor dunasty members with out job. On very low decadence you have bonuses to income and trop moral I believe. On 25% decadence no bonuses/penalties. Anything more and you getting penalties to income and trop morale. In addition there are special events triggered by high decadence whitch are bad for you.
