I didn't read the entire thread, but I think at least Fanatic Xenophiles and maybe Fanatic Egalitarians should have AI rights as an option, while it is forced upon both Materialists.

Are robots actually enslaved (as far as generating additional resources)? The tooltip only ever gives me their 'trait' bonus (robot/synth/droid), if it is slavery, it's some very special kind that doesn't seem to influence their energy or science output (positively or negatively).

If there is some sort of advantage to keeping synths in digital chains, I seem to have entirely missed it.

At least if they have Mechanist civic
Again, no point. That the faction get pissed is simply a bug:
Egalitarians do NOT care if Robots have Citizenship and do NOT care if Robots are enslaved. That they consider it for migration at all is a bug.
Xenophile and Xenophobe always explicitly excluded Robot pops. And it is till does.
It is just a classical problem with the Xeno-check:

You can not enslave a T1 or T2 Robot. They are not ... sentient enough ... to be enalved I guess? Or rather they are always working like Enslaved/Nerve Stapelled Very Strong Pops.

But you can enslave a Synth, same way you would any organic.
