5. Nothing To Do But Expand and War ... but lets make that as annoying as possible - I know it's tough, and this is a great game (I have sunk 850 hours on it so easily gotten my monies worth!) and the developers are trying to make in between wars somewhat interesting, but they really haven't IMO.

Maybe I just need a break from playing, but the only problem is, I took a break, came back after a couple of patches and a DLC and haven't completed a single game in a long time.

Anyway, this is meant to be a ranty/aggressive post, I'm just curious if anybody else is in the same boat as me really and I'm curious if there are any other problems or things that kinda suck some of the fun out of playing?

Even if you don´t want to declare war, AI can declare war on you, should player countries have some kind of bubble?

Also conquest is a big thing because it should be a big thing. If it wasn´t playing Ming would be auto-win because, population. No one wants auto-win.

You should also mention how much you´ve played, it´s hard to find many games that can still feel a challenge after 100 hours. Got fun witth that much? Then game is a success IMO. Burn out is real, read some books, play something else. I personally "get dumb" after playing something for more that two hours in a day.

The only thing that I don't like regarding the DLC policy is when they change basic aspects of the game that have been there since Day 1
eg. Needing the common sense dlc to upgrade provinces or the new strait-naval mechanics.
Speaking of which I really hope we do see a naval focused dlc and an asia focused dlc 1 day.

People are conquering the world faster than ever... How could coring costs possibly be a problem if that's the case? Get Administrative ideas and you're alright. I disagree with the rest of the points as well, excluding #3 and #5 to a degree. Regarding #3, I am in total agreement with you. Not every war should be a total war. If an 3PM is attacked by a nation with 150 FL, has no allies and no chance of winning, they should perhaps be more willing to take a peace deal if you only want one province (and you've taken the fort) or something similar.
so administrative ideas are the solution to conquering the world as a nation that already has massive coring cost reduction, no one denies that. the problem is that conquering is the only thing to do in this game, and it keeps taking longer while no difficulty or alternate ways to play are introduced. also, isn't it a problem that administration is the best idea in the era when the great powers emerged from focusing on trade (dutch) colonialism (spain and britain) diplomacy (austria) military (france, prussia, ottomans, russia) and extreme luck (prussia and qing). I really can't think of one nation that flourished mainly due to their administration for a simple reason (that should be shown in game): 9 times out of 10 if land is worth conquering the actual conquest and defense against foreign intervention is far more difficult than holding the land

I think people conquering the world by razing it via horde mechanics is in the spirit of the game, and actually coring costs are much lower there because you are burning the development down, so it's not the situation most people are talking about.

and instead of responding "right how do I overcome this" I just hit exit and restart a fresh game rather than slog it out.

I have this problem a lot. Like discovering some nation in an area I have marked of vital interest allying my biggest, friendliest ally, and I just go reset. Because it's not worth it going to war to someone to break an alliance, go at speed 5 for 10 years and then attack them, but you usually don't have a choice. They should add an option, in exchange of favours, ask an ally to break alliance with someone. Because believe it or not the Commonwealth shouldn't value the OPM Siena as an ally when Italy wants it in their stockpile of provinces.

But one thing I just ... I just wish they did something about the regencies. They make my game, uh -- accidentally crash.

Well, when a bug makes the game non-functional there's nothing you can do but kill the process with ctrl-alt-delete and start the program running fresh.

Yeah, it's unfortunate and I hope they fix it one day, similar to stuff like stuck AI bug or colonial 601 day travel bugs that were around. Kill process restart helps to resolve the issue but it's not fun to do.
