In AoD for example i didnt like those additional production options like speeding things up or retooling, simply because it always felt like AI had no clue how to deal with them. This mostly led to small countries producing way fewer units than in vanilla HoI2.

Actually the AI doesn't have retooling in AoD. It's about the only cheat they get AFAIK.

DH does have semi automated sliders where you give instructions on what field to focus on.

I would like to be able to deny allocation any IC towards upgrading units or some other useless when I'm focusing expanding IC. Also I would like to set limits how much maximum or minimum can be allocated on different field. If those are on, then it's all good. I just can't understand why those couldn't make to DH. Those may seem small details to developers, but much appreciated by many players who don't like to manually control sliders.

Actually the AI doesn't have retooling in AoD. It's about the only cheat they get AFAIK.

Plenty of cheats. Supplies while moving, unlimited naval range etc.

And this just proves that I'm right:

DH does have semi automated sliders where you give instructions on what field to focus on.

In other words it's just the clumsy HoI2-style interface but expanded.

Take a scenario where you're short on money but don't actually want to produce more than say, +1 money per day. You'll have to micro this yourself because the slider AI will adjust a lot more IC to the CG slider than just enough to produce 1 money per day. In AoD it was so simple to automate this with extremely little player input with the advanced sliders.

Or once again in other words, what PSJK said in his post you currently can't do without adv. sliders.

The CORE techs were quite well organized, that would be awesome. But please, please don't even consider the Mod 34 ones. Though I don't really mind the current tech system depicted in the newest DD: The tech's have been changed, and the timeline's been expanded.

I'm in the beta and I prefer Darkest Hour sliders to AoDs. I do not dislike AoDs but I still had to tweak them more than I'd like.
In DH you can have the AI emphasize any of the IC categories or none and let the AI run it all. Works great.

Overall DH is a big upgrade to the HOI2 family. The economic surplus/deficit decisions alone are brilliant.

But you can't micro them when necessary (unless totally manually every day which is fucking annoying).

If sliders are really the only missing feature Ill be amazed... Surely other AOD stuff wont be in DH? Mind you, I do agree the advanced sliders of AOD are a beautiful, sexy thing.

Frankly its not ideal to have to be stuck with two different HOI2 games that could have complemented each other quite a bit. Heres to hoping that DH will be sufficiently superior as a product that the choice will be easy nonetheless.

It bothers me as well. However, that issue has already been discussed to infinity and I don't think that anything will change in regards to it. Here's hoping that DH alone will be playable, challenging and balanced :)
