Well, imitating would, of course, have no legal obstructions, but I still don't know how...polite it would be. But it doesn't ultimately matter, seeing as the DH team has already stated they won't be including said features.

EDIT: Oh and there are no advanced sliders. Just an expanded version of the HoI2-like tab where you can tell the slider AI to prioritize each slider - very clumsy and inferior to AoD's adv. sliders.
That would suxx badly. It's one of the AOD's best features that greatly reduced the required micromanagement. When I got back to HOI3, things became painful again :(

It's simply so good and so simple that it must be included.

I wont buy DH if those stupid sliders are in.

They are completely optional in AoD and I really don't see why one would not want to use them (unless you like to micro your prod every single day).

No, I believe the way some of you are looking at this is quite childish. First, it was Paradox's fault that the dev teams didn't cooperate (didn't even know of each other's existence, apparently). Second, DH can't simply take all of the features from AoD and place them in their game without permission, there's this thing called copyright.

They are all working towards the same goal aren't they? To create a better version of Hoi 2, in my opinion it would be utterly ridiculous if they didn't share solutions with each other. It would be extremely contra-productive if they were forced to stay clear of each others "turfs".

While I agree it would be great if the both teams worked together, I don't think it's fair towards any of them to demand it. Same goes for copying some solutions from AoD to DH (and probably once DH is released people will ask for some of DH's to be copied into AoD). Both teams might have different design policies, ideas, might want to concentrate on different aspects, or doh - might not even want to share the potential profit and its entirely their right to do so.
We gotta remember those are two different games, nevermind they're based on the same engine, it's still like asking the makers of all those games based on Unreal Engine to drop their work completely and work together towards creating 1 ultimate FPP. (couldn't think of any better example of many games using the same engine)

Game design and features cannot be copyrighted. The code and artwork is. (See Scrabble vs Scrablous)

That said, it would be rude to not ask.

(edit)

IMO advanced sliders should be in as it was one of the best features of AoD that I think HoI3 should have stole.

Random hate yes. I dont like them because it would be easier to just pay cash for each leaders leading a unit with a rank factor and thats it and there wouldnt be ways to exploit it like i have seen it happen in the aod forum.

Why the huge concerns over copyright violations? You don't need copyrigth when building a wheel. Most features of AOD is kind of obvious and quite primitive really. Also, plenty of the new features in AOD are based on suggestions by forum members and wishes by the HOI-community. Despite AOD was the first to release a couple of new features doensn't mean it has a monopoly on them.

Is it not likely that Paradox owns the intellectual property rights? Someone boot up their copy of AoD pl0x, my laptop for school doesn't have it.

So does HoI2. ;)

Those are either fully automated or completely manual, but not partly automated so they adjust to fit conditions while staying in boundaries the player can preset. Those are semi-auto sliders.

DH does have semi automated sliders where you give instructions on what field to focus on.

Your system is just an expanded version of HoI2's system, which is way inferior and more complex to the more simple and efficient advanced sliders from AoD. Just include them.

Advanced sliders are fine with me, like someone said doesnt hurt anyone to have optional features, but its not a must.

In AoD for example i didnt like those additional production options like speeding things up or retooling, simply because it always felt like AI had no clue how to deal with them. This mostly led to small countries producing way fewer units than in vanilla HoI2.
