has anyone ever seen ethopia beat italy

in my japan game it is june 1938 and I looked and saw that ethopia has driven the italians out of east africa. I wonder if a semi-lobster and the ark had anything to do with it :rofl:.

just wondering if any one else has seen this?

I'm sure all the italian lands are striped and their still at war. but even driving them out of east africa to me is a victory when your talking about ethopia and italy.

probly. this is the only time I have seen ethiopia alive this late in the game. and then to have them drive the italians out of east africa is too much.

I can see duce in rome yelling "GIVE ME BACK MY LEGIONS !!!!!".

I've seen the Ethiopians hold out for years (gave up on that game before either side won), but I've never seen them kick the Italians out on their own (I did it once AS Ethiopia, but that was only after declaring peace in 36 and building up again).

Was Ethiopia really that advanced country to afford 3,3 leadership points? I mean, if you compare it to Sweden's or Finland's leadership points, it's almost the same.

I am tempted to either take over as the ethiopians and join the allies or take a small country and do a hands off game.

either would make a good AAR think of it ethiopia there for al alemain, d-day or the fall of berlin.

58 brigades are alot for the north africa threater.
I am taking votes for either.

I'll vote for Ethiopia. This might be more interesting, as you can join some attacks, assuming the AI will be launching any. In my current USA game, it's 1944 and Britain is happily sitting there doing absolutely nothing, while I'm liberating Europe. They did send me some divs an EF, but other than that, nothing...

My guess is they somehow cut the Italian supply lines and then destroyed the cut-off Italian troops.

on a serious note I don't know how they did it. I was busy with my war in china and then the soviet far east to notice.

but i did notice all the logistics wizards the ethiopian army has. so my guess is they let the italians overrun there supply lines, and then destroyed them piecemeal. atleast until they started to outnumber the italians.

look at the screen shots the ethiopians cost 0 ic for supplies so they can't be using that many supplies

For some reason, when I played Italy, the HQ commanding the Italian army in Ethiopia was off in the middle of the Sahara desert, far outside of HQ range. I was actually able to fight when I relocated it.
