Has anyone actually gotten an AI Rebelliion that worked?

I have played this game since launch and I have yet to experience an AI Rebellion that wasn't bugged to death. I have never seen it snowball, or rebuild a fleet, or anything. Is it just me or is there a problem here?

I had a single AI rebellion in one of my first games on 1.0 or 1.1 and it was quickly put down by the AI empire it spawned in. Since then, in 600 hours, I have pretty much only seen Unbidden. Can't speak much to the Rebellion, but I'd say that's a problem in itself.

I hate to say this but NEWP. I never got the pacify event and had to console it in. It was infuriating bc it would scale to your empire size and cause you to lose multiple things at once.

It wasn't an insurgency I felt like I was actually able to counter.

As of late I pretty much see Unbidden over and over again. Though that is probably a result of insane difficulty AI and their generous research rate bonus for difficulty. AI seem to have some form of programming that they seem to avoid danger techs (besides jump drives), or they simply concede AI rights as soon as the event starts.

Other than that I have only ever had a cascading AI rebellion once, but it was shut down after about four empire revolts and was defeated within a decade.

Have seen most of the time the Unbidden. A few times the Prethoryn. And exactly one time the AI revolt. Think it was back in 1.3. But the revolt was a joke. Played in a 1000 star galaxy and exactly 3 star systems revolted. Still wondering why the revolt wasn't put down immediately from the AI where it started. But hey, after 40 years or so the AI finally had enough and cleaned those systems...

The AI rebellion unfortunately doesn't have very much in the way of teeth given the way it spawns. The necessary conditions to start it are not particularly common. And they way it supposed to gain strength from populations revolts is very weak as it does nothing to affect standing fleets and offensive armies. If it threatened to flip control of offensive forces it would be much more scary.

As it is the best i've seen it do was in a large multiplayer game where there was to much going on for anyone to devote the power to nip it in the bud. It ate 2-3 minor ai powers and then got crushed once the nearest human player wasn't occupied for a few years. It ended up killing the player who beat it because he over extended, since he had to take the AI worlds rather then vasslize, but neither could he leave fully developed worlds in his backfield for someone else to drop colonists on.

There is currently no real reason to ever not give synthetics full citizen rights, so for humans there is no real gain to justify the rebellion risk.
As for AIs...

It would seem only some ethics would deny AI citizen rights, and those happen to be the ones with reduced chance to see robotics as a tech.
I've played with the personality files and policies around the AI rebellion, and the above statement is very true.

I'd say that AI servitude should give a boost to robot output.

Regardless, the crisis itself is not really a crisis. I've forced the crisis multiple times (hard invaders mod -> force all crisis) and have never seen the AI rebellion accomplish much, if anything.

I've mucked around with personal mods and so far the only way to give them some fighting chance was to make the AI core station in their home system be a super-super-fortress.

EDIT: As @legionof1 basically explained already.

And as the event takes not nearly as often place as for example the unbidden voice of players complaining about its bugs and flaws is considerable lower.

They fixed the Unbidden because its the most common crisis and with the Awakened Empires always certain to be triggered.

But I hope that they will also fix someday the other end game crisis too.

Yes, i had the AI revolt in my last game... And i lost against it.

The synth revolution started in my empire while i was busy in a war with a coalition of 2 other empire with an equivalent power of me. Basically i had all my armies in space busy conquering the enemy, so no one was ready to protect the planets from the rogue synth army (which are the robotic army type, not android luckily)

The synths also spawned with 3 fleets of 10/11k power each, so they had my same fleet power. Plus the synth homeworld was protected by a 20k fortress...

Oh, and all the rogue synth pop have an absurd bonus to production: like +600% for energy and minerals.

Yeah, maybe synth revolt doesn't happen everyday, but when it happens and you are not prepared....

I've only had the AI rebellion once, in my very first game during the week of Stellaris' release, and it never really amounted to much. In my 10 or so games since that have reached a crisis, I've had the Unbidden also exactly once, with all the rest being the Prethoryn Swarm.

I am really, really tired of the Swarm.

AI rebellion has been braindead everytime Its spawned for me.

And thats when I can get it to spawn. I've literally had 2 games now where I had my proverbial balls on a skillet for it- with 16+ synth pops enslaved and AI rights set to servitude- just trying to get the AI revolt to spawn-- to no avail. I've had to manually punch in the event code both times after waiting for 20+ in-game years and getting impatient.

It may be that the braindead issue is caused by my manual spawning but

A: that shouldn;t be an issue- neither of the other End Game Crisis have this issue
B: I shouldn't have to forcespawn it to get it to halfway do it's job.

AI rebellion was the Crisis I was looking forward to most pre-release, and it's been saddening to not have it as a valid threat throughout the entire history of the game since launch. The AI needs to be redone, the ships need to be rebalanced, and the fleets need to scale to the changes in fleet power since the launch of the game.

TL;DR--- No. AI rebellion doesn't work.

I only once had a massive ai rebellion.

I owned about 1/3th of the galaxy and has massive amounts of synth slaves.

The home planet and fleets alone aren't dangers.
But it spawn synth rebellions on pretty much every planet with synths.
So while my fleet was already busy destroying the home world about 1/3 of my empire revolted and switched to the synths.

The synth sabotage and hydrogen bombs where also not nice.

The AI rebellion only has teeth if there enough planets with synths in the galaxy.
