It is harder with new update to see how many positions a family has.
Before if you howered the mouse over a character you got information, how many positions a family had and how many they required.
Now when you look at a character you can see if they are part of a family if they have a small triangular banner in the top right.
But when you hower mouse over if you dont get the info how many positions they have and how many they require. In stead you get a tooltip how it works, but not the important info.

Because making families grateful - which is giving them double the amount of position they require is the key to get happy characters in this game this should be changed.

Agreed.
1) Colors are too light - blue family on sky background, impossible to see, easy to confuse with minor character. This makes it hard to see at a glance (office screen, governor map) which families predominate the job market.
2) Main way to see family jobs is (a) go to family tab first or (b) when you click to replace a job. But since it's such important information it should not require a second click to get it

I wish they remove families altogether tbh, or automate it to such a degree that you change characters’ political positions by event only.

Unpopular opinion, I know. But better to have no character micro than bad character micro.

It’s only there because it was in the “original”, which itself was a kind of mod for eu, and a bad one at that. Then the designer decided to make his “baby” into a grand strategy title, promised a lot, but in the end just copied the original into a new engine, bogged down by the same concepts of the original, which were adapted for the old engine and low budget of the original.

Those old ideas are bogging doen this new game for no reason whatsoever, as if people buy this game to click who’s gonna be the researcher and see if his momma is angry for not naming his brother instead.

Eu:rome conceptual residue
