I would like to see in Victoria something like that. A desired alliance would take a real amount of sacrifice from your part, but it would be more lasting in time and eventually, a good investment. I looked at the messages in the screenshot and got scared by the amount of alliances formed in 1836, february, 2... I just don't like it! Beta or no beta, an alliance should form only as a response from a threat (in the case of democratic regimes) or as an attempt to modify the political map in your favour (autocratic regimes). Why would Netherlands ally with Hamburg in 1836? I don't have anything against economic treaties, good neighbour policies, yet a political alliance makes no sense. If neither of the two feels threatened, why should they unite in such a form. In this way, we can expect some world wars in the mid '50s, and frankly, this is not too realistic.

Aha, I just wondered if the AI makes alliances that quickly. That's why I wondered if the test scenario started on January 1st 1836 though I understandt that the AI isn't totaly ready yet :) .

I think Johan forced some things to happen so that you would have text in the message window...

Well, let's hope it's only that....but my main concern remains. I really hope that the diplomacy could be a little tweaked from the original EU2 and HoI.
