A few days after the meeting of the Stadtrat, Xaver wanted to check on the well-being of the Jewish community. One of his advisers suggested to contact Johann Bärnstein who was one of the leading members of the Lübeckian Jewish community. Jews were allowed to live freely in the republic and did not have to fear persecution like in other parts of the Holy Roman Empire so he assumed the Jews were fine but to be sure he sent a letter to Bärnstein.

Dear Mr. Bärnstein,
Seeing as you are an influential Jewish merchant and respected member of the Jewish community, I would like to know from you how the Jewish community is currently doing here in Lübeck. I haven't heard any complains which makes me happy but I thought asking you could shed even more light on this situation.
~ Xaver von Warendorf, Statthalter of Lübeck

With the death of Isaac Dreyfus, the city of Lübeck needs a new diplomat

((He didn't die in 1456. He just moved away from oue country.))

Twan lied down in his new bed. He thought about Holzmann, the man that gave him his job. He quite liked him because of that. Thanks to him he could afford this new bed. Then he thought about who he saw as his greatest ally: Giovanni Cadorna. The man that got him to be an officer, the good friend of his father and colleague. He also thought about the Patricians: von Warendorf, Fischer and Haas. Von Warendorf was the one he liked most of the bunch, as it was clear the other 2 despised him, because his father was the staunchest supporter of Von Warendorf you could imagine. He was different. He was loyal to the city, not to some glorified merchant. But he needed one as ally, and Warendorf was easiest to get. The only one he wouldn't leave was his future wife and her family. Whoever that would be. He grabbed the book about the Finnish people, and started reading. A hour long he read the book, which only seemed like minutes. The Finnish were a very interesting people. He closed the book, put it back, and started to sleep, tommorow he had another day of work afterall...

The forests near the City of Lübeck were quiet. All kinds of animals lived there. So many animals lived there... Some of them could be hunted without destroying the harmony of the forest...

The City of Lübeck was opposite of the forest. Noisy and busy. It was only early morning, but merchants were already selling their products in the town centre, seamen were loading up the cargo to the ships in the harbor and Patricians were writing letters to their trade partners...

This day was little special though. Once again, every rich merchant and other influential people have received a letter. A letter from the City of Lübeck. It is an invitation to a Great Hunt that will be organized in the last week of November...

((It is time another IC Event! This time we have "The Great Hunt".

The Great Hunt will last three IC days, and three real days. Every day we will start a new hunting trip, each one having its own difficulties and challenges. Also, at the end of every day, the best hunter will get fame and of course a little reward!

Every player can sign up one character to the Great Hunt. The character must be player's main character, or their relative. Remember that there is always a little chance of an injury, but it is unlikely. Most of the time...

The deadline for signing up is Monday 20:00 CEST. If you didn't sign up in time, don't worry! You can always sign up for the next day's Hunting trip!

I hope we will make this a fun and interesting Event!))

((Cadorna will be joining in))

It was early in the morning, but the hunters had already woke up. The forest just waited for them. For the brave hunters...

The morning was very cold, but clear. There was not much snow in the ground, so the hunting trip was going to be easy and relaxing one. After some while every hunter was ready to go. They went to the forest in little groups. Every group was supposed to be back at the camp before dark.

The hunters had a lot of fun. The forest was full of animals, and the hunters caught many of them, like rabbits, foxes and boars. Unfortunately they did not see any deer or other bigger animals. But tomorrow they will go deeper in the forest, and hopefully find those too.

Finally the sun was setting. Every group was back in the camp. After a lot of talking and eating, everyone's games were counted. And the most successful group of the day was... Johannes Fischer's one with amazing 4 rabbits, 5 pheasants and 4 foxes! His group was truly the best of the camp. The other groups had way less amount of game. As a little reward, Johannes got a beautiful antler. Every good hunter should have one in their home!

((The first day of the Great Hunt is over! You can still sign up, you only missed the first day.
And well done @Istarsamu!))

Cadorna chose to stay behind on the first day of the hunt, opting to instead further plan out the focus of the army.

CoF Plan, 1456
1 - Bolster the Navy, Three new Galleys would be commissioned with the intent to rival the Scandinavion Navies, the Merchant fleet was not designed for combat.
2 - The army would posture and train for an invasion of Mecklenburg
3 - The Navy will being looking for leadership. An envoy shall be sent to the to our friends in England seeking Naval expertise, shall they give it. Lubeck will seek an admiral to command her ships.

The Great Hunt
- Day 1 -

Heinrich von Warendorf left Lübeck two days before the hunting trip started. The weather was cold; some of the smaller rivers were frozen and the snowfall was heavy the week before the hunt. Luckily, that changed on the morning of the the first of three expeditions. With the sky clear and good vision, Heinrich and his group left early in the morning together with a few hounds. Heinrich noticed that there were a number of hunting groups. He saw Johannes Fischer and Twan van Buren leading their own groups in the horizon.

He was hopeful and enthusiastic about the expedition. They walked through the forests near Lauenburg for a good hour when spotted a couple of snowshoe rabbits in the snowy grass. Quickly the hunters positioned themselves, hoping that the rabbits wouldn't notice them. A few arrows later, one of the two snowshoe rabbits was shot but the other had escaped somehow - not even Heinrich's hounds were able to catch it. As time passed, they stumbled into more of them, shooting a total of three. Then they moved on, looking for deer but were unable to find any. They spotted a boar and with great trouble were able to take it down. One of Heinrich's men was severely injured and escorted back to camp early where he was treated but later died from his wound.

While the injured was brought to camp, his main group continued to march through the countryside. Eventually, they spotted pheasants hovering over some trees. His group was a bit tired from all the walking but with their last effort, they shot four pheasants.

Before it was getting dark, Heinrich's men returned to the central camp where they talked with the other hunters. It seemed that Johannes Fischer's group had brought home the most game that day. Heinrich wasn't jealous though as this was not a competition for him. He was out here in the wood having a good time. One snowshoe rabbit, one boar and four pheasants was his game. The boar was skinned that grilled at the campfire that very same night. He shared the meat with the others and then went to sleep, trying to get some rest for the next.

((OOC: Where is this RP being done, or do I just write some stuff that happened?

((The hunt takes place in the forests of Lauenburg. The ICs about the hunt are very much up to players unless it contains some RNG like Fischer apparently is the best hunter.. I wrote about Heinrich's group and what game they got at the end of their trip.))

The Great Hunt
-Day 1-

Heinrich was riding through the peaceful forests of Lauenburg atop his destrier on the first day of the Great Hunt. The day was pleasant enough, with the brisk morning air waking him up from his earlier slumber and the sounds of the forest soothing his senses.

It had been a long road from Vienna to the north, and it had given Heinrich time to rethink his choices. Would journeying to the far off Österland truly be the monument to Raasch greatness that he so wished? Would the Danish King even award him with lands for leal service, or would he merely wind up an even lonelier knight in service of an uncaring power than he had in the Austrian court? It was questions of that nature that were passing through his mind as he slowly plodded along the road, only for his musings to be interrupted by a loud crunch and a passing wild boar.

The screams of the animal that had been penetrated by multiple arrows and bolts were enough to cause Heinrich's horse to rear, but a talented rider the young knight managed to remain mounted, and instinctively hefting his spear he stabs it through the eye, penetrating the brain and causing the animal to collapse into a heap on the roadside.

"A fine thrust, a fine thrust indeed!" A loud voice from the woods called out, revealing a small knot of well-dressed men with bows and boar spears approaching.

"Thank you, Sir." Heinrich notes, bowing in his saddle,"Might I have stumbled in the way of your prey? If so I apologize."

"Nonsense! A hunt awards only the finest, and this kill was all yours. Would you care to join us at the camp? Can promise only fine company with drink, in exchange for some choice cuts off your meat!"

Considering the offer, Heinrich smiles and nods. Why not? He could use the company and it seemed like a fine way to get used to these new surroundings. With the help of the other hunters, the boar was soon carried off to the Lübeckan camp, spitted and roasted with mead, beer and wine flowing as freely as the cuts off the meat.

Johann was checking through his accounts when his butler Avraham rushed in with a letter addressed to him from The Statthalter of Lübeck Xaver von Warendorf enquiring about the wellbeing of the Jewish Community surprised by the letter Johann would write down a quick reply sending it via the local messenger boy
I am glad you have asked me about the wellbeing of my community and am deeply honoured that you would think to ask my opinion about the jewish community. The Jewish Communitty is thriving though some have lost money as many in the Jewish community had contacts with Muslim Merchants and after the Expulsion of the Muslims some have gone Bankrupt or have lost money. But even if some have lost wares the jewish community still thrives as a whole as the merchants have replaced this contacts with Baltic or English contacts.I am planning to build a synagogue if you would allow me to do so it would greatly please our community .
