I recently started playing the campaign and thus I turned on autosave. Now I ocasionally experience hangups while the game is autosaving. Does anyone else have this problem?

It just takes a while to save...

I'll just throught I'd throw this out at you...

Try running the game without the sound (or at least the music).
It might not help your problem, but the music was a big sorce of troubles for many players in the past.

There is an extension you can add the command line to run Majesty without music.

Thanks, I will try this. How do I do it?

I think you can do it by adding the parameter -nomusic to the end of the string in the shortcut path (i.e. the Majesty shortcut on the desktop).

It's been about 5 years since I last played Majesty so my memory is a little hazy. However, I believe that will work (though someone who actually has Majesty installed on their computer might want to verify this assertion.)

I tried and it didn`t work. Thanks for the help anyway.

Didn't work as in the music still played or didn't work as in the game locks regardless of the music playing or not?

If it's the former then someone else might have the proper extension.

If it's the latter, you might want to try reducing your video display resolution to 800X600 before running Majesty (It's another old-timer Majesty trick). When the Gold edition was first released and ran under windows XP (it was never tested for XP - and I'm assuming you are running XP), some people had problems with video card issues. I remember this trick (manually changing resolution) solved a problem in one case. You could also try experimenting around with you video card acceleration (i.e. trouble shooting).

Good luck to you.

Also don't forget you can turn off Auto-Save in the options. There really is no reason to have it on anyways.

My crashes (XP) are usually related to the Embassy :? or large kingdoms.
