Handing our rewards for email subscribers?

Why? Wouldn't it be much better to hand out rewards based on facebook and twitter followers it seems much more conducive to viral marketing. Also it does not clog up your inbox.

Well then don't link it, like I said we could have both. The people who like to use email can do that and the people who prefer social media can have that. Me I much prefer facebook to have my paradox than to have a bunch of emails in my mailbox of stuff I will get informed on through social media anyway.

No I have like a dozen but only one linked to my phone because otherwise it'd buzz every few seconds. And I really only check my important emails account because all the others have several thousand unread emails at this point.

As more people sign up, new rewards will be unlocked! Unless specifically stated otherwise, reward content will be delivered to participants when the game is released.

Which clearly indicate it will be delivered upon subscribing.

It is not specifically stated that you will get the forum avatars upon subscribing it only says to get them you must subscribe.
Now if it said:

Subscribe to claim the Imperator: Rome themed forum avatars and forum icons now.

Then you might have a point.

I clicked to subscribe and it said that it sent an email to me with a link to click to confirm, but I have not gotten any email from them yet.

Though if I go back to the site where you subscribe it says:

"Thank You!
Thank you for subscribing to Imperator: Rome updates and joining our sign-up campaign!

You are now eligible for the first reward in our march to the release of Imperator: Rome! In order for future rewards to be unlocked, we need to have more recruits, so spread the word and get your friends to sign up!"

Even though I have not received a confirmation email yet. And I still I cannot seem to access any forum avatars. Sadface.

First, I'm quite sure that only "new" email-adresses get a confirmation email, although it reads different. That means, if you already have confirmed this email for your "normal" paradox account, you do not need to confirm it again, because as a next step you log in with email and your password. This unlocks the subscription.

Second, we most likely get the icons and avatars a few weeks prior to release. That's like it was in almost all other campaigns.
