Im not sure if Spain eventually gains control of the Low Countries or does Austria always keep control of it?

I think perhaps when the Habsburgs become the Kings of Spain - the low countries should be ceeded from Austria to Spain.

Spain gets the Lowlands + France Comte + Italy from Austria when Karl V/Carlos I dies.

The EEPhas a better representation of the Burgundian inheritance (vassal of Austria, vassal of Spain, inherited by Spain when Carlos I comes to the throne)

I don't knowif AGCEEP adopted this approach.

IRL, Spain took all the Possesions outside Austria, Italy, Burgundy and netherlands, while Austria had Austria and the Holy Roman Empire.

In the normal version, Austria inherits Burgundy in 1476 and then gets an event in 1566 (IIRC), when Carlos I dies, signing over either Franche Comte + Lowlands, or Franche Comte + Italy, or all of it.

Once I didn't like Spain so I evaded it completely by selling Franche Comte to France and releasing Italy as my vassals right before the event. :rofl:

when i was playing Austria for the first time, i knew about the inheritance of the lowlands, but i didn't know that i had a choice! I only owned Veneto so suffice to say that i prefered to give them French Comte + Veneto (3 core prov) over giving up 7 core provinces in the lowlands!

Italy and Lowlands will go, but I don't know if so many parts of France will.
You can also choose to give either Lowlands or Italy, you don't have to give both..

(so when I was Austria I just kept vassals in Italy until after the event, just so I could 'give' Italy and keep Lowlands, then after event I diplo-annexed the Italian statelets..)
