Nice stats there. Gotta love Wallenstein. I hope you're making use of him ;)

Yes, he served his purpose.

I was at war with 3 countries. Wallenstein defeated one of them all alone. He defeated the other one helped by Pappenhein(funny story about Pappenheim). Then he retired to sunny Andalusia (literally, i forgot him there).

part 19: two vassals and a conversion. (1619-1629)

DP click: Aristo +1.

The new monarch is automatically emperor, since i am the only Elector left! hehe...
His good stats make me attempt some conversions.
War with the russian alliance, the Iberian front, the Lowlands front and the East.

aa1.jpg

Thanks to some TPs and colonies (not much, about 3 or 4) around the world, taking continental Netherlands is not enough to secure a 70% warscore. We need military access from Denmark to reach Greenland and America.
After Porto gives us about 300 ducats for ...umm... guarding Tago, troops in Portugal head East, towards Aragon, while Wallenstein leads amphibious assaults on the Mediteranean islands, to link up with the main Iberian army afterwards.

aa2.jpg

Denmark grants us military access, Pappenheim is on his way to secure the Dutch colonies, while Wallenstein conquers enough Aragonese provinces to secure a 87% war score. We are at war with Sweden.

aa3.jpg

Pappenheim's adventures, together with the stupid Dutch sending fleets of 1-2 warships against my 100 galley fleet guarding the Dutch coast, secure a 85% war score, and NL is vassalized.
Sweden is invaded and their great general is defeated and killled.

aa4.jpg

Aragon joins the alliance, Sweden accepts peace: conversion to Catholicism.

aa5.jpg

Europe has not changed these last 10 years.

Future Strategies: the NL will be annexed, but all the colonies and the TPs (Bahamas, Yucatan, Vestbygden, Mahe, Ambovombe) will give me extra BB. What i want to do is DOW a colonial power, maybe England, and hope for them to get the far-away colonies.

My armies wil be stationed in near continental NL, so that i can stop any assaults. However, all 3 provs have lvl 3 forts, so it will be quite difficult to take them.

I dont want to get into BB wars so soon, so I will wait a bit. I remember waaay back, if a country DOWed you, offering 51% warscore in money meant the country would automatically accept the peace. I want to test this to see if it is still true, and if so, before diploannexing my last big vassal, i will make a huge cash reserve, to buy peace in the first round of BB wars.

France will be the next country, as they keep offering me CB from an embargo. The downside is i have to cancel MA. On the other hand, they are very likely to diploannex Savoy, their ally and vassal, quite soon, and then enter an alliance with someone i have a CB on.

The Ottomans are no threat... Forts in hungary are built to lvl3, armies are stationed near the border, and should the opportunity of a defensive war arise, i will take my cores + all the catholic provs i can find. So far, the OE converted (by event) transylvania, from reformed to sunni.

Russia is at war with Poland and winning... i still hope they will get a few provinces, thus reducing the BB cost of diploannexing Poland. On the other hand, 3-4 BB may not be relevant at that point, and the risk of having the provinces converted to Orthodoxism is really high. I would fund Poland, but i am afraid the money will be diverted in the war against Sweden.

As you see, there are PROs and CONs to any path i choose to take. I only hope i have the presence of spirit to choose the right if need be.

Update soon (tonight most probably)

Funny to see protestantism in Tunisia (because England owns the place, if I'm not mistaken) and strange to see only Aragon turn CRC, and not also Spain.
