I approve wholeheartedly. Liking beer is generally, in my experience, a sign of someone who is good to hang out with.
My own preferred import is McEwan's Scotch Ale, when I can find it. If not that, I like Singha, or a very hoppy IPA. However, I have never yet tasted anything that could match Guinness when served in an Irish pub; the export cans (also sold in off-licenses in Ireland; I drank them in the B&Bs) with the little widget thing are a pale imitation. If you poured their equivalent in a little pub in Donegal your ass'd be out of business before you could say 'Sinn Fein'.

NOTICE - JOB VACANCY
Ok, I need a volunteer to take over the recruitment Centre thread and make sure it is kept up to date, I dont have the time to handle it anymore.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to log on everyday and keep the thread and roster uptodate.
PROMOTION:
The position will mean a conditional promotion to LANCE CORPORAL or SERGEANT (if already a CORPORAL).
DUTIES:
Will be charged with the enrollment of new recriuts and charged
with upkeep of the company Roster.
Must be polite to the recruits, but encourage them to provide adequate reasons to join.
Once a recruit is accepted, the location of the sig and a service number must be posted in reply.
PAY:
Pay will be upgraded to 10 extra bottles of Pils from the Pinkus Brewery.
Oh and you get to post a fair bit!

Dunno, just that we have to do something about the issue about new recruits going A.W.O.L. all the time. Perhaps they should have to do one or two posts in the Company Camp AAR thread (whenever that comes up) to get them started? Well, just an idea.
As for the promotion thing, never was the one to go for rank, I do my job among the men and that's good enough for me, sir.

Yes, the old gang is the only one posting here. There are a few reasons why the new crowd doesn't.
a) most of them just browse the forums one time per week
b) most of them are scared by the great size of the thread and its apparent dezorganization
c) most of them have nothing to do
d) most of them think that this is some kind of "worst player club" where you do nothing...
This will change and hopefully soon enough. The "Life in Our Company" thread will make its way into the AAR section, new missions will appear, and who knows?
Now, that "Life..." thread won't be like this one. Each member shall create an artificial image of himself, which will be used in the storyline. Most of them will have specific tasks and ranks and hopefully, this will encourage more members to apply and participate.

Low I have a shortlist at the moment going through them. Will choose one person for the moment, should be tomorrow.
As for the AAR, well I plan to get an update done for tomorrow (Wednesday 5th) afternoon, before I rush out and play with some fireworks.....hmmmm fireworks (idea flashes across mind!)

Sorry I was M.I.A. this weekend boys (I was just living up to my sig ). By the time I got around to attempting to post Sunday night, I couldn't connect to the site. Tried all the time Monday too but it still didn't work. Are people waiting on me to post or is something else going on?
