It's been quite a while since I played Battletech, and I'm starting the campaign over since several DLC have released. I've come across a Gyro +1 defense and I've read through the description of the item, though I'm still not quite sure what it does. Is the +1 defense something that decreases instability by one bar in the case of a melee, projectile or missile attack, or is it something else like adding one chevron to your movement at the end of a turn? Thanks.

If it's Hit Defence it increases the difficulty of shots being fired at the 'mech by 1, basically making them +-5% harder to hit per point of hit defence.

It's in effect like a permanent half-point of Evasion per +1.

Thank you both. Yes, I remember using the gyros, but that was a year or so ago. :)
