My fathers family including me is gypsy/roma. Their entire large family lived just like the gypsy/roma folk in Europe do.
The word gypsy/roma is not offensive to any of them .
My dad and his brothers seem to wear the word as a badge of pride of whom they are,to call them gypsy stirs an emotion of pride, its definately not an insult. The insult would be telling them the word gypsy is an insult.
I really don't know if there's anything worse than watching someone continue to use a racist term even after it's been pointed out to them how offensive it is. It's one thing to use it without thinking/knowing. But no one can continue to claim ignorance at this point. Please just stop.
Please tell me how it's offensive, oh yeah sure some will find it offensive but i'm sure we could a gypsy/roma/romani (or whatever you want to call them) who finds roma/romani offensive.
For me atleast it signifies people who live a gypsy lifestyle and by that i would classify both travellers (irish travellser, scottish travellers etc.) and romani as gypsies. It's about the nomadic lifestyle rather than just the ethnic group.
Edit: and that was completedly oftopic.
I personally think that if Gypsies/romani are represented in the game it will probably be via events and perhaps provincial modifiers, i seriously doubt any gypsy/romani was landed in this period, therefore a separate culture would not be justified.
