I have always had zero interest in metal music in real life. Never listened to it recreationally--hell, I listen to Mozart and Palestrina when I work out or commute.

And yet I lovvvvvve this music DLC. It's fantastic. All youse complaining about it are Negative Nancies and Debbie Downers. I may stop listening to the game's soundtrack soon, and start listening to my own music in the background again, but that's only because the limited number of tracks makes for very repetitive listening, even with all the DLCs.

Really? I thought the whole thing was a massive disappointment. I was expecting some nice, perhaps only accurate later in the eu period but whatever, marching tunes and war stuff, not whatever these were. A waste of 2,50€.

...did you actually read the DLC description?


I downloaded this instantly because I was extremely bored by old music, although I suspected 'metal in no way fits EU4' so I was pretty astonished when I listened to these songs first time

It would be awesome for a Total War game, to actually see the battles of the 16th-18th centuries and hear the music, would fit in quite neatly.
They should hire Jaldaboath to do some music for Crusader Kings 2.

Are you aware that many people really like this DLC?

Just referring to those who instantly purchased it and were sickened when they heard it haha... just my opinion of course, but I think it's an awful idea.

In fact this makes me like it even more - I was sick of hearing old war songs million times

Honestly, if I wasn't Ottomans (who have few unique awesome tracks) + didn't have DLC I would download some replace - music mod, I am so bored by most of default songs. My favourite original song is currently this one which plays only in main menu :angry:

There's a lot of metal out there which is garbage. Guns Drums and Steel takes after the best Scandinavian metal traditions, the non-extreme variety anyway. It was done tastefully and fits in very smoothly with the game's atmosphere.

Gave a Dynasty Warriors kind of feel to the game during war. IDK. I kind of like the cheesy Japanese Butt Rock sound though

When I bought it, I tought it's regular music for Art of War and when I heard metal in EU4 I wasn't too happy, so I bought regular AoW music too. After two days, I must say I love those metal songs much more than regular AoW music, even if I am not metal fan. Just give it a chance, that's all.

I realize that I have one other minor beef with Guns, Drums, and Steel: It doesn't include Metal Falalan from the same guys as the rest of GD&S.
