Guestion about Italian battleships of Andrea-Doria class and Conte di-Cavour class.

Hy,

I am producing 2 new mark VII BB`s and 1 mark IV BB, when they are ready, should I combine them with my 4 old upgraded BB`s or use them as an secondary fleet flagships combined with other older ships.

Wich is more useful?

Is there a mod where those older ships can be upgraded to mark II or III ships? And how can I edit those BB`s to newer mark`s in save game file if I wanted?

I know these are old guestions, but I did not found a old discussion about this, neither in wiki.

Can anyone help me?

By upgraded BB`s I ment BB`s with brigades.

Hy Vurtsel,

I assume you are using the "armaghedon" version of HoI. To modify the save file is not so hard, look at the version of BB from the queue line and replace for the old ones already deployed.
Combining new ships with old ones is acceptable only if the range differences are not so big, or if the old ones are to many and can't be replaced.
Your ratio of 4 old BB and 1 medium and 2 new don't justify combining them. Since you play as Italy, and don't have CVs, and your rivals as UK have a lot, you must divided your fleet, as to not get knocked down in one piece.
I did that mistake as Germany and loose all my chances to win the naval war.
