the ancient meaning of it's modern name is comprised of the old words for sacrificial place and village. sometimes it was only referred to as "holy place" or "place of worship".
My guess would be El Paso, Texas but I was looking at the city a few hours ago and felt it was wrong. I have been circling the US south, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico but can't find a suitable option.
