You don't find that many wooden houses along the Mediterranean. And usually not as dark. Also, there is no bright/yellowish limestone or palm trees here unlike in the locations you guessed so far.
This town is one of the oldest along its particular coastline (as in that country's coastline), and is a popular tourist destination. It is small, but if you find the coastline, there are not that many to choose between.

The architectural style and climate just feels distinctive to me the same way you can often tell if something is in Italy or Greece or Croatia.
