I have no idea which city one can find on Antartica. Another hint maybe? 
Even starts and ends with "A" only certainly eliminates one continent. Asia, Australia, Africa, Antartica and America North and South) are left. Only Europe is definitely wrong. Almost worthless hint in my opinion.

Not Perth and not Johannesburg. This one seems to be even more difficult that I had thought...
Not Melbourne. Wow, over 24h without being answered. Another hint: This is a huge coastal city in a former European colony.
Are there any places in the southern hemisphere that weren't colonized at some point?
Well, since I haven't the slightest clue, I'm going with Sydney for now. Interested to see how long this one's taking!
